IT WASN’T ENOUGH

[LUCA]

Despite being summer, the early morning air was chilly, so I wrapped my cloak around Lena's shoulders even though she was wearing her own cloak. She seemed to appreciate the gesture and rested her head against my chest, snuggling against me as we rode into the forest.

"Where do you want to go?" I asked.

"Anywhere. Anywhere with you."

Her reply sent chills of pleasure up my spine. I'm going to hell for this.

We rode on for a while, not particularly heading for a specific destination because I was too distracted by the warmth of her body against mine. We had taken a different, longer path traversable by horseback, but we somehow found ourselves nearing a familiar structure.

"Oh," I sighed.

Lena giggled softly. "Perfect. This is exactly where I wanted to go."
