LOVING SOMEONE ISN’T AN ERROR

[LUCA]

My body tensed up from being singled out, but I relaxed just as quickly, keeping my face impassive.

"Certainly, Your Highness," I replied to the prince. To be honest, I wasn't surprised. I knew this was coming eventually, and it was better to deal with it now than later.

"Walk with me, Captain," Prince Alexandre said.

We entered the gardens and walked in silence for a while until we arrived at the pond. I followed him to the pavilion, pushing away the image of the last time I was there, mesmerized by Lena's beauty in the moonlight, alone with her.

Well, we weren't exactly alone. Her snake of a friend was there. I unintentionally clenched my fists, remembering what that evil woman did.

The prince cleared his throat and turned to me. "Captain, you know why we're here, right? Why I wish to speak with you alone?"

Despite my tension, I revealed nothing, keeping my eyes lowered respectfully. "I believe so, Your Highness."
