[LUCA]

Climbing on the small bed, Lena scooted over to the side closest to the wall, giving me more space. I lay down on my back stiffly. Lying side-by-side, our shoulders touched even though I inched to the very edge of the bed.

We fit, but it was a tight fit.

Frankly, I didn't care where I slept. I was used to sleeping in any position, on any surface. The straw bed felt very comfortable, though, especially after sleeping on the hard floor or earthy ground for the past few weeks.

But I cared only about Lena being comfortable, and knowing how much she moves during her sleep, I would only be taking up her space to move around. I started to sit up, but Lena's hand shot out immediately and pushed me back down.

"Where are you going?" she demanded.

"Lena, you won't be comfortable if I'm here—"

"Oh, shut up," she said, turning on her side and throwing an arm and leg over my body. "You make a very good pillow, Luca."
