NOT AN OBLIGATION

My sleep was deep and long. I woke up midafternoon feeling refreshed, although the soreness wasn't gone yet as I got up from the bed.

When I opened the door, I heard loud noises coming from outside the cabin. Luca appeared to be constructing something near the vegetable garden, hammering away at wooden spikes on the ground.

However, I wasn't interested in what he was constructing.

My eyes were only fixed on the rippling muscles of his shirtless back, which swelled every time he brought down the hammer. My eyes followed the sweat trickling from the back of his head to seep into the groove between his shoulders.

Having sensed my stare, Luca turned around and saw me peeping at him from the window like a creep. He broke into a radiant smile while I pretended to appear nonchalant, as if I just got there instead of staring at him for a few minutes.

"Hey you," Luca greeted me. "Did you sleep well?"

"Yes. What are you doing?"
