I HAVE TO

[LUCA]

I have to.

I have to do it. There is no other way.

It's been three days, and Lena's fever hasn't shown any signs of alleviating. She was only getting worse with each passing day. She barely ate or drank anything. I can't just wait for her to miraculously get better.

I have to do something, or I might lose her forever. And I can't live without her. I just can't.

While she was asleep, I sprinted as fast as I could to the settlement. I found the elder and quickly explained to him what I needed to do. The linguistic barrier took me longer to accomplish it, but he sensed my anxiety and was kind enough to agree immediately, even though I was sure he didn't fully grasp my intention.

He called for his nephew, and Zuri and I ran back to the cabin while I explained the favor I needed from him along the way. He was only a boy, but I trusted him to accomplish the important task I set for him.
