GONE SO WRONG

[LENA]

They came out of nowhere, emerging from wherever they'd been hiding, their dark cloaks billowing in the wind.

As soon as they showed up, I started trembling in fear. A fear I'd long since buried in the depths of my mind, hoping I'd never revisit that horrible feeling again.

Luca instantly stepped in front of me, taking a protective stance.

The unknown men were armed — I could see their weapons half-concealed behind their backs — but they made no move to draw them, as if they were waiting. The man in front, who seemed to be the originator of the sudden, loud yell that broke off my kiss with Luca, started walking towards us.

"Stay back!" Luca warned, aiming his bow at the approaching man as he stepped back closer to me.

Luca and I both froze when the man called him by his last name.
