MORAL DILEMMA

[LUCA]

It was still snowing when we unwillingly left the coziness and warmth of the mansion. However, the wind had stilled, and the fluffy white flakes floated gently to the ground instead of swirling around erratically like they did last night.

"Luca, are you sure you can manage?" Lena asked me tentatively, holding my arm to stop me from walking down the front steps as she stared at the pale gloominess.

I pulled her to me and wrapped an arm around her, quickly kissing the top of her hood as we walked to where Louis and Elliot were getting the horses ready. "Yes, I'm fine. It sucks to leave such a nice place, doesn't it?" I said, glancing back at the mansion. "But we have to keep moving. We'll find someplace just as nice and warm later. Don't worry."

I'll make sure we do, I added silently. I still feel like crap, but my body had recharged just enough that I could endure the bothersome pain better than I could last night.
