NOTHING I CAN DO

"Watch out!" Elliot called out.

A sudden moan of pain escaped Luca's lips.

He staggered, but he continued running.

"Luca, what's wrong?!" I yelped. I couldn't see what was causing him pain. I tried to look over his shoulder, but he pushed my head down with his chin to stop me.

"Keep your head down," he muttered. He had put his mask back on, but I could see him clenching his teeth. I felt his strides becoming slower. His eyes were only focused on Elliot, who was also running to meet us.

"Captain!" Elliot sounded distressed, his gaze trained on the pursuing guards behind us. Upon reaching us, he matched Luca's pace and ran alongside us.

"Elliot, you have to carry her." To my surprise, Luca lifted me and passed me over to Elliot's waiting arms in a matter of seconds, mid-run.

I blinked at Luca in confusion.

His next command shocked me even more. "Take her and go."
