--MC POV--
"It was my aunt, who burned that house? No, I refuse to believe that" stated Allison, as Lydia was busy preparing a self-igniting Molotov cocktail.
"Thomas, pass me the sulfuric acid" requested Lydia.
"Yes. Ma'am. Anyway right now it isn't important who did what. What we know is that we need to stop the alpha." I said, while I passed to Lydia what she asked for.
"Can't you work together with my family, since from what you said they are hunting him too" asked Allison.
"They are hunters, and there is a feud between the Argents and the Hales. We'll find a way to let them know they are the target." I reminded her.
"Yet you said that hunters have a sort of code that state things like, they can't kill innocents or that if one of them becomes a werewolf he must commit suicide. I'm sure that burning a house with humans and kids, goes against said code." Remarked Allison, unwilling to believe her aunt would commit such a crime.
"Hunters aren't perfect, there have been plenty of humans who committed atrocities under an ideal."
"Sorry to interrupt your dialogue, but could you pass me the arrow pods" we needed a way to throw the flame bomb at a flying kanima and Allison insisted on participating. Also, she was able to find in her house these strange pods/arrowheads, which are used to blind werewolves with light upon impact. Well, now they will be exploding arrows.
"So, what about Scott?" asked Malia, who had been spectating the whole discussion.
"I broke up with him. I'm too tired of lies and our relationship didn't seem to work anymore. Also, I'm still scared of what happened that night."
"Then…" Lydia tried to speak, but one look from Allison was al she needed to shut up and pout.
"Anyway, have you heard that two other guys were killed".
"Yes, we need to stop him the earliest possible".
--Laura Hale POV--
Me and Derek were waiting near the petrol station for a particular car, and it didn't have us wait for long.
Chris Argent got out of his car and the moment he closed the car door we approached him stealthy, but even then, not for nothing he was an expert hunter and before we could reach him, he took out his gun.
"You are here for me, Hale's siblings?" he asked while he kept an eye on us from the reflection of a glass.
"It's about the alpha." I said, not wanting to start a conflict, we already have too many problem to deal with something like this.
"I understood you are not on his side, but if you think that we'll cooperate in hunting him, then you can just go back to where you came from, I have no intention to mingle with werewolves".
"Neither we want to cooperate with the murders, who killed my family" said Derek with a frown on his face.
As he registered my brother accusation he turned around and looked at us with that poker face he always display.
"I already said it many times, but we had nothing to do with that. We follow a code."
"Interesting. I found out some months ago that the mastermind was a young woman who wore this necklace" I passed to him the drawing made by Harris and when he saw it Chris Argent's face turned in a frown.
"It is strange that your daughter was wearing the same necklace. She is too young to be the culprit, but someone must have given it to her" I added.
"Don't approach my daughter".
"I'm not a murder, differently from your sister and thanks to her the alpha will target you next. Let's go Derek our business here is over".
"Not yet over" He said, as he smashed one of the windows of Chris car.
"Now we can go" he added and I glared at him for his childishness.
"It's a justified retribution. He did the same with my baby last time."
Men and their car…
--Chris Argent--
"We aren't murderer! We follow a code, rules that were made to protect our society, but you have been playing around with other lives for selfish reason." I yelled at my sister angered by the fact that she threw away our creed.
"They are werewolves. You know as much as I do that their existence is a danger" she retorted, but this doesn't surprise me, she has always been headstrong, but I never thought she was capable of doing what she did.
"There were humans and kids in that house! And you condemned them just because they were born in that family!".
"And how many people do you think those guys would have murdered"
"We are humans, we have no right to judge others because of suspects. The code is what judge who is guilty and who isn't".
"So, what do we tell the victims? Sorry if your son had to die, but we can only act after the murder happens" she said, but she missed an important point.
"The ones you killed were victims! For years other hunters have accused us and I defended you, because I thought we followed the same rules, but you betrayed me, you betrayed our cause and brought shame to our name" these words seemed to hit her harder and her face contorted in a frown.
"I have always done everything I could to be the best hunter of the Argent. Dad always knew what I did, and he praised me for it, because I was right in doing that! You are just a wimp, who can't do what needs to be done. The alpha has been terrorizing this town for months and you still have done nothing."
Dad knew?
How much has this family been hiding from me? I always knew he was not a great model to follow and that's why I kept Allison far away from him, but to think that he was such a monster, and he probably passed these teachings to Kate too.
I failed my sister, but I won't do the same error with Allison, I won't let her be influenced by them.
"You are to depart immediately. I will think of a way to deal with you later, but for now just know that you won't join this hunt" I know I should have punished her harshly, following the code, but she is still my sister and I'm also partially responsible for not realizing earlier what was happening.
"And what will you tell Allison?" she seemed to be provoking me, but her tone was also worried. Maybe she still has some humanity in her as she seems to care for Allison, but I can't allow her to ruin my daughter.
"Do you think I don't know you have been planting hints? I can't allow her to learn about the supernatural from you". She looked down at her feet with an angry and sad expression.
"But I won't tell her what you did. I want her to remember you as the aunt you have always been for her, not as a monster who murdered an innocent family."
Tears were streaming down her face and I too started to find it difficult to maintain a stern expression in front of my crying sister, but as an hunter I have responsibilities, the well being of common people depends on our work and I must make sure we don't turn from hunters of monsters into monsters.
--3rdperson POV--
Unaware to any of them the girl they were talking about had been listening, and she too was crying while giving it her all to not let them hear her.
She felt like she had lost her aunt, the friend who had always been there for her.
She felt disgust, sadness and betrayal, but even this was not enough to make her stop caring for Kate, because while Kate was indeed a horrible person with many issues, if there was one thing she did right, than that would have been Allyson, for that girl she was the best aunt anyone could ask for.
(We are near the end of season 1, hope you liked chapter. I kow that many are not happy with MC making errors or messing the situation. What i ask of you is to trust me, because I assure you that this fic will have a great end. Also I have to tell you that, as I said a few days ago, I won't be able to post any chapters for the next 2 days cause I will be on a family trip.)
