I arrived at Yuna's apartment, my heart pounding with anger and betrayal. I had spent the entire drive over trying to wrap my head around the fact that Emma had been seeing my ex-girlfriend behind my back. And now, I was going to confront Yuna and find out what the hell was going on.
I knocked on the door and waited for her to answer. It felt like an eternity before the door finally opened, and Yuna stood before me.
"Jack, what are you doing here?" she said, looking surprised to see me.
"I need to talk to you about Emma," I said, my voice filled with anger.
"Come in," she said, stepping aside to let me in.
I walked into the apartment, my eyes scanning the room for any sign of Emma. But there was nothing out of the ordinary, just the same furniture and decorations that had been there during our relationship.
"What do you want to know?" Yuna said, looking at me with a mixture of confusion and fear.
"I want to know what the hell was going on between you and Emma," I said, my voice filled with anger.
"It's not what you think, Jack," Yuna said, her voice shaking. "Emma came to me."
"What do you mean, she came to you?" I said, my anger starting to turn into confusion.
"She came to me a few weeks ago. She said that she needed my help," Yuna said, her voice filled with sadness.
"Help with what?" I said, my confusion growing.
"She didn't say. But she was scared, Jack. She said that someone was threatening her and she didn't know what to do," Yuna said, her voice filled with worry.
"Why didn't she tell me?" I said, my anger starting to fade as I realized that Emma had been going through something alone.
"She didn't want to put you in danger. She said that she was worried about your safety," Yuna said, her voice filled with regret.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Emma had been going through something alone, and she had been more worried about me than herself.
"I need to know who was threatening her," I said, my voice filled with determination.
"I don't know. She didn't say," Yuna said, her voice filled with sadness. But I couldn't shake the feeling that she was hiding something, her eyes kept darting around the room and her body language was tense and guarded.
"Yuna, I need to know the truth. I need to find out who was behind the threats and make them pay for what they did to Emma," I said, my voice filled with urgency.
"Jack, please, you need to stay out of this. It's not safe," Yuna said, her voice filled with fear.
I didn't know what to think, Yuna's sudden change in attitude and pressure to not get involved only made me more suspicious. I couldn't shake the feeling that she was hiding something, and I knew that I had to find out what it was. I couldn't rest until I found the person responsible for Emma's death and made them pay for what they had done.
