Chapter 14: Is Yuna Really On My Side

Jack meets Yuna in private and confronts her about what she's doing there. He sounds angry and confused, and Yuna can sense the emotions rolling off of him in waves.

"What are you doing here, Yuna?" Jack demands, his voice tight with anger. "Are you trying to stop me? Are you trying to make my plan fail?"

Yuna looks at him calmly, her expression unreadable. "I'm doing my job," she says simply. "And you don't have to worry about me getting in the way of your plans."

Jack's anger doesn't dissipate, and he continues to press her for answers. "What kind of job is this, Yuna? How can you work for someone like Alexander Krieg? He's a monster, a criminal. He's responsible for so much pain and suffering."

Yuna's expression remains calm, and she speaks in a measured tone. "I understand where you're coming from, Jack. I know that you have a personal vendetta against Alexander and Hyperion. But my job is to protect people, and that's what I'm doing here."

Jack scoffs, "Protecting people? How can you possibly think that working for a man like Krieg is protecting people? He's a criminal, a murderer. He's responsible for the death of innocent people."

"I understand your anger, Jack," Yuna says. "But you have to understand that Alexander and Hyperion are not the only players in this game. There are bigger forces at play here, and I'm working to make sure that the innocent are protected."

Jack is taken aback by Yuna's words, and he can feel a sense of confusion and frustration building within him. "I don't understand," he says. "How can you work for someone like Krieg and still say that you're protecting people?"

Yuna's expression softens, and she reaches out to touch Jack's arm gently. "I know it's hard to understand, Jack. But trust me, I'm on the right side of this. And I promise you that I'll do everything in my power to make sure that the innocent are protected."

Jack looks at Yuna, trying to process her words. He can see the sincerity in her eyes, and he knows that she truly believes in what she's saying. But he can't shake the feeling that there's something she's not telling him.

"I'll think about it," he says finally.

Yuna nods and gives him a small smile. "That's all I ask," she says.

Jack leaves the meeting with Yuna with more questions than answers. He can't shake the feeling that there's more going on here than he realizes, and he knows that he needs to be careful. As he walks away, he can't help but wonder if Yuna is really on his side, or if she's working against him. He can't shake the feeling that he needs to be careful around her, and he knows that he needs to keep a close eye on her. He can't shake the feeling that she might be the key to finally taking down Alexander Krieg and Hyperion, but he can't shake the feeling that she might also be the one to bring him down.
