Chapter 52

No matter how many times I tried to strike up a conversation with Richard, I still couldn't get rid of the quiet atmosphere between the two of us that was created thanks to my stupidity of being preoccupied with my thoughts to the point of forgetting Richard who was waiting for an answer to his question.

And thanks to that, now I have to pay the price for my stupidity by watching Richard who has been busy fiddling with one of the dozens of Madurese chicken skewers that I bought through my favorite online food ordering app.

Even though I deliberately ordered the food not because I didn't want to cook our dinner, but because I wanted him to enjoy one of my favorite foods from my favorite Madurese restaurant every time I visited my grandparent's house until I graduated from college a few years ago.
