Chapter 69

Jess really kept his word not to force me to eat the food he made or take medicine.

He didn't even try to come into my bedroom, giving me a chance to spend some time alone without being disturbed.

The only thing that kept bothering me was my bad memories with my biological mother, which kept popping up every time I fell asleep so that I kept waking up short of breath and cold sweat running profusely all over my body.

"Damn!"

My hand then grabbed one of the pillows near me and threw it as far as possible until it hit the bookshelf near my bedroom door as soon as I was awakened by a bad dream that I want to forget as soon as possible by any means.

"Why is that damn woman showing up again?!" I cried, ruffling my hair in frustration before I bent my knees and buried my head in them. "I just want to sleep, that's all. Is my request too hard to sleep too much?"
