"Miss Car!!!" An annoying male voice called out in her direction.
She knew who it was instantly. Mr Fucking Richard.
"Is this your break time?" He asked checking his watch purposely.
"It isn't" she replied.
"Really? I didn't know it was okay to stop working and casually play with your phone when it isn't lunch time" He spat.
Bentlee was tired of him. He hadn't been in a good mood for a week now. And because of his mood swings, Bentlee, Leilani and Milan were always on the receiving end of his outbursts.
"Sorry for leaving my work sir" she says simply.
He rained daggers on her through his eyes but she couldn't care any less.
She bowed slightly and left his presence rolling her eyes.
She needed the day to move on so fast and luckily for her, it did.
She had plans tonight. She was going out drinking with her cousins, Darwin and Emma, the sensible ones.
Once the clock hit 5:00pm, Bentlee's bag was already packed and hung over her shoulder.
She was the first to leave work today and she loved it.
She walked to the bus stop and boarded an available one.
She was super excited today.
She didn't want to wear her work clothes to drink, not that it would matter, so she stopped near where she lived and walked home.
Unlocking the door, the sweet fruity smell of her apartment wafted into her nostrils and washed away the tension of the day.
Just coming home to her own space was enough to feel at ease.
She took off her shoes and held them in her arms as she located her room.
She turned on the faucet and let the water fill up the grey bathtub in the bathroom.
She threw in a bath bomb and let it open up inside the water
She wanted to shower only initially, but decided to have a bath as well just to calm her tensed muscles.
After her shower, she sat in the bathtub, and was submerged in the water for a few seconds.
The water smelled of flowers, fruits and sugar.
The bathbomb scent was insanely amazing.
She sat there relaxing before she felt it was enough and didn't want to be all red when she went out.
She got out and wrapped a towel around herself.
She exited the bathroom and walked to her closet.
She picked out a matching blue lace underwear set.
Letting her hands feel the clothes that hung, she picked out a few and placed them on her bed.
She was indecisive at this time, so she decided to shut her eyes and randomly pick a top, a bottom and a jacket from the ones she already selected. She knew each item would go well with anyone no matter what she chose.
She shut her eyes and selected randomly and was happy with the results.
She wore a black see through top with a black leather jacket and a blue denim mini skirt with a slit in front that showed her thighs more.
She paired the outfit with boots and accessories.
She decided on a no-makeup makeup look and was done in about 15 minutes.
She took out her phone and took a photo of herself.... Ohhh she was gorgeous.
She left her house feeling fly and confident.
*Beep beep*
Bentlee received a notification, It was from Darwin.
"Where R U???!!!"
Bentlee smiled and replied, "On my wayyyy".
She hurried to the bar and read the name as she walked in, "La Vida".
"Lee!!!!" A female voice called out, it was Emma.
"Emma!! I missed you so much" Bentlee ran and embraced her. It had been so long since she was around family that felt like family.
"Lee" Darwin enveloped her in a bear hug after Emma had let her go.
"Okay okay, I missed you too" Bentlee chuckled.
....
"Danceeee da nayt awayaeee" Bentlee was gone, singing along to a song that was being played.
"How has work been?" Emma asked sipping her beer.
Bentlee had a low tolerance for alcohol and was drunk after her fifth sip making Darwin chuckle.
"Work has beeeeeeen a... Bitch! Mr Richard, that ogre... He's always- l-looking for ways to annoy me. I could just punch the stupid excuse of a goatee off of his face" Bentlee made a fist and glared.
Darwin burst into laughter and so did Emma.
"Sss nOt FuNnY...." Bentlee whined.
"You're right, it isn't.... We're sorry" Emma apologized with a cute giggle.
"If you're that fed up, you can just quit... There are more job opportunities out there at the moment. You would get rehired that same day if you want it that much" Darwin drank his beer.
"The pay... It's stressful but the pay is good enough. Plus- I've been assigned to a project and I'm not leaving it so they can take credit for my work, No fucking way!" Bentlee knew Darwin was correct.
She knew that with her capabilities, she would get hired the very same day if that's what she so chose.
The thing was, she wanted to rise in Del Loona, not just any company.
It HAD to be Del Loona. She wanted to be able to rub it in the Ogre's face.
Del Loona had a policy where it was possible for a junior to rise above their senior if they were better and got the opportunity to be recognized.
There weren't up to 10 companies that had that policy in the whole country.
If she was dedicated enough, she could work three or more floors above that ogre.
It's not like he would be going anywhere anytime soon, he was shitty at his job.
Bentlee sighed and reached for her beer when Emma grabbed it before her.
