Spirit Beast Tamer

Time continued to pass.

Nie Jin was about to present the last auction item. "Fellow cultivators, the last item for this auction is unique, I'm sure most of you will bid on it." Nie Jin grinned while attracting everyone's attention with his mysterious words.

"The last item of today's auction is a Tier 9 Artifact." Nie Jin's smile grew wider as he lifted off the red cloth from the tray to unveil a weapon. What appeared in everyone's eyes was a short light-blue dagger.

"This is the Ice Flower Dagger; it can be wielded by both men and women. This dagger was created by a Tier 9 Forger using a set of ice attribute materials, hence the Ice Flower Dagger possesses the ice element."

"When an enemy is struck by the Ice Flower Dagger, their blood will freeze causing them to be immobilized for a second. I believe all of you should know the value of this Artifact. The starting price for this Tier 9 Ice Flower Dagger is 250 Low-grade Spirit Stones." Nie Jin provided a detailed description of the Ice Flower Dagger before announcing a starting price.

The first floor instantly burst into a commotion with cultivators throwing bids in a frenzy. Even the dignified cultivators on the second floor did not hesitate to compete for the Tier 9 Artifact. A few cold voices from the third floor also jumped in to bid.

"280 Low-grade Spirit Stones" "300 Low-grade Spirit Stones" "350 Low-grade Spirit Stones" Instantly the price of the Ice Flower Dagger jumped by 100 Low-grade Spirit Stones.

"4 Mid-grade Spirit Stones" An aloof and cold voice rang out from the third floor. Deathly silence followed.

A Mid-grade Spirit Stone contained a large amount of Qi, the amount of Qi was equivalent to 100 Low-grade Spirit Stones. Therefore, 4 Mid-grade Spirit Stones were equivalent to 400 Low-grade Spirit Stones. However, nobody would actually exchange a Mid-grade Spirit Stone for 100 Low-grade Spirit Stones, because the purity of the Qi contained inside a Mid-grade Spirit Stone far surpassed that of Low-grade Spirit Stones.

"4 Mid-grade Spirit Stones, once, twice, and sold. Congratulations to the guest on the third floor for obtaining the Tier 9 Ice Flower Dagger. Since the last item has been sold, the auction has officially come to an end." Nie Jin announced simultaneously, then he walked off the stage alongside the woman beside him.

Nobody continued to bid on the Ice Flower Dagger because they knew they had no chance when Mid-grade Spirit Stones were involved. Tang Yin's attention had been attracted to the Ice Flower Dagger, but this was only because it was the first Artifact he had ever seen. This dagger could not compare to his Abyssal Sword, hence there was no need to bid for it.

Tang Yin did not linger in the auction hall once the auction had ended. Instead, he left. He did not return to the inn immediately but headed to the Maple Leaf library once again. He wanted to see if he could find anything related to the Demonic Beast Egg he had obtained inside the archives of the library.

Tang Yin arrived at the familiar Maple Leaf library once more, the guards he met this time were not the same as before but had similar cultivation. "How long do you wish to spend in the library? 3 hours will cost a Low-grade Spirit Stone." One of the guards came forth and questioned Tang Yin when he arrived at the large gate of the library.

"9 hours." Tang Yin replies nonchalantly, he took out 3 Low-grade Spirit Stones and handed them to the guard. In return, he received a plate with a 9-hour timer. Tang Yin did not waste any time, he quickly entered the library.

He was greeted with the same sight as before; he did not take in the sight though but hurried to the bookshelves to find the book he needed. After a few minutes, he found what he was looking for. The book he held was called 'Spirit Beast Manual'. Tang Yin walked up the stairs, found himself a secluded table and sat down.

He opened the book and carefully started reading it, as he read more, his understanding towards the Spirit Beast Tamer profession increased from almost non-existent to highly knowledgeable.

The Spirit Beast Manual stated, if a cultivator wanted a Demonic Beast Egg to hatch, they had to provide it with a sufficient amount of Qi. For a cultivator to become the master of a Demonic Beast once it hatched, they had to drip a drop of their blood essence onto the egg before the Demonic Beast Egg hatches.

This would create a connection between the cultivator and Demonic Beast, once the Demonic Beast hatched out of its egg, it would be able to instantly recognize its owner. The connection between the owner and Demonic Beast was akin to a Master-Servant bond. The owner of the Demonic Beast could then control its life and death with a thought if the Demonic Beast decided to rebel or lose control.

However, situations where Demonic Beasts went rampant and out of control rarely occurred. Unless the owner did a poor job of raising the Demonic Beast, the chances of the Demonic Beast rebelling were infinitesimally low.

The baby Demonic Beast would grow not depending on its age but on the amount of Qi and food provided by its owner. The more Qi and food it is provided, the faster the Demonic Beast can grow to its maximum potential.

The potential of a baby Demonic Beast depends on the strength of its mother. If the mother is a Mid-tier Rank 1 Demonic Beast, the baby Demonic Beast that hatched out of its egg would have the maximum potential to reach the Mid-tier Rank 1 stage.

Tang Yin had also learnt that all Demonic Beasts reproduced eggs, it was not just bird-type Demonic Beasts. It did not matter what Rank or type of Demonic Beast it was, they all reproduced eggs if they could somehow make one.
