One has to wonder, is there ever truly a good way to say goodbye?

As a young man lies on his deathbed, he ponders his life. He ponders what he's done, and how he's done it. Would he be considered ‘noble and true of heart’ to his loved ones? Would he choose to live the life he had lived again, even after knowing the outcome will always be the same?

As he lies there in his hospital bed, he listens to the heart monitor. The slowing beat reminds him of a clock whose gears could fall out and break at any moment. At any second, at any minute the clock could just... stop. He thinks to himself all of these things and wishes his goodbyes.

He does not regret living, but he wished he could have survived.
