Euthenasia no Euphoria.
(Sekki and Fukase Oz)
Even Sekki and Oz, who are both extremely powerful were unable to stop the scouring darkness created by the Schatten. The flurry that had been echoing along the cold catwalk came to a halt. A shudder passed through the runners, who were now standing in front of the wicked mirror, bathed in its abysmal darkness. Sekki took a quick glance at himself in one of the hundred mirrors presented.
The air quickly became suffocating like never before. Oz started to feel uneasy.
"Hey. Don't you think we need to do something about this oppressive darkness?"
"Do something about it. I need to find her!"
Sekki, on the other hand, has one goal in mind. He doesn't care if either of them is in danger or neither does he care about Oz. Saving her, the girl he pledged to protect.
"I get that you want to save her. But think of our current situation first. Do you think we can save her if we're here? We're being played by the Schatten."
Sekki ignored Oz's complaints, paying no attention as he continued to walk to the dark's endless mirror.
"Brother!" Oz couldn't stand how Sekki treated him like he was nothing. The young hopeless one was clutching his fist. Sekki, on the other side, had come to a halt in his walk. Nobody knows whether he will respond to him or not.
"I know you're still blaming yourself for the death of our parents. That is the reason, right? You left because of that."
Sekki's breathing became erratic. The sound of his heavy breathing became increasingly audible. They both lack understanding of one another. Sekki doesn't seem to want to listen to him, but Oz wants him to understand and return to how their relationship was.
"Oz… I'm…"
"Don't tell me…"
Oz had a frustrated expression on his face. "I know you're not going to acknowledge me anymore. But not until we're out of here. Could we please get along for a little while?"
The brother took a deeper breath. He smiles slightly and returns his gaze to Oz.
"You never change, Oziuss."
Oz was perplexed by Sekki's willingness to listen to him. He couldn't quite express his delight and excitement. However, he only nodded and smiled to himself.
"So, what are we going to do with the darkness?"
Leaving all the decisions, Sekki let his brother decide what they are going on next.
"Uh, right! First, we must defeat the host. The Schatten transported us to another realm. It may appear unchanged, but this is only one of its hundred lairs." Oz explained briefly
"I see. And to do that?"
"The Acting Field Commander gave me a little knowledge about the Schatten."
Oz walked closer to one of the mirrors. "If you stare at one of the mirrors. The mirror will respond to another you. If it doesn't respond, then it will be the gate of its real location."
"Respond. You mean, if I don't see my reflection in the mirror?"
"Yeah."
"Sigh. Why didn't you just say it that way? Stop making my head spin. "
"E-eh. Pardon."
That's why Sekki and Oz started looking for a mirror that doesn't show their reflection. Every mirror they check on must be observed carefully, and if there is no reflection, they must move to another. However, no one knows what will happen if they find that reflectionless mirror.
They only did what they needed to do. It was endless for the two of them. For some time now, Sekki had grown tired of what they were doing for quite some time. There are no schatten or enemies to keep them occupied. They sat next to each other.
"Isn't it strange that there's no Schatten here?" said Oz, puzzled of why they don't have any enemy at all. He began stretching and itching his head for a while.
"If no one is here, it could be that the enemy is moving somewhere where the others are. I'm worried about that girl, she…"
"That girl? …Oh you mean Euphemia?"
"..."
"I don't really know her but that girl seems to be stronger. When I looked into her eyes, I could really see how fiery her soul was. I'm sure she's doing fine."
Sekki lowered his head, baffled by what he had just heard.
"That girl… she is currently…"
"...?"
"She carries no magical power with her."
"W-what?!"
