Short Story (1) : Collide (18)

*

There were many emotions at play, many scenarios running through his mind as he made his way to the room. Somehow, amidst this nervous anticipation, Raphael became acutely aware of how vast the house was. Despite taking several steps, he still couldn't see Ezra's door, though he tried to maintain a calm exterior.

Fortunately, the household staff had their own schedules, and once their working hours were over, they would retreat to their private quarters, leaving the common areas empty. There were specific numbers to call if the residents needed additional assistance. Raphael felt a bit self-conscious, even though he knew no maids were around to witness his strange expression (though, in reality, Raphael had a neutral face, just overly enthusiastic in his thoughts). It was as if he feared that someone might read his embarrassing plan if they happened to see him.

'How will Ezra react? Will he be worried when he sees me?'
