Chapter 11

Vanessa's Point Of View:

I slowly blinked my eyes open, to see Doctor Strange standing over me, repeating my name a few times.

"Yes, Strange?" I answered, sitting up in my human form on the cracked pavement.

"I-I I think I blacked out again during the fight".

Doctor Strange held his hand out to help me up to my feet.

"No you didn't, Loki used the staff to control you".

"Oh, what are you going to do with it now though Loki knows you have it in your possession?" I asked, raising an eyebrow at him.

"Send it to someone who can keep it safe here on Earth" explained Doctor Strange as he opened another portal with his sling ring.

"But when wouldn't it be safer if it was under your protection?".

"It would be, but I don't think it's wise for me to keep two Infinity Stones; I already have one to guard with my life".

Strange set the Chitauri Scepter on the counter through the other side of the portal and closed it, knowing that Loki won't get his hands on it for now. I looked at Doctor Strange and confusion.

"Who's counter was that?". he turned to me and sighed.

 "An Avengers".

Then Doctor Strange opened the Eye of Agamotto, concentrated on all the damaged areas from the attack and began to turn the time back on them. I watched in amazement as I saw a building that was beyond repair build itself back the way it was before Loki came. Once everything looked right again, Doctor Strange resumed time again and I followed him back into the Sanctum Sanctorum.

"Well it looks like you don't need my help anymore. Can I go home now?".

He stopped at the bottom of the staircase and turned to face me.

"But we still have to find-".

Before Doctor Strange could finish his sentence, a portal opened to his left and Wong stepped out with a stern face, harsher than normal.

"Strange, how did you find out about the chambers below the New York Sanctum?" he demanded, thinking that he actually trapped him in one of the chambers.

"I didn't; Loki has been messing with everyone's mind recently".

 Wong didn't look convinced.

"Wong, Loki shapeshifted into Doctor Strange so you would think he betrayed you" I explained, stepping up to Wong.

He looked at me in confusion.

 "Strange, who is this?".

"Oh, that's my graduated apprentice, Vanessa".

Wong turned to face Strange and whispered to him.

"I thought we were done training people in the Mystic Arts?".

" We are. I knew it would be beneficial if I taught some basic spells for the battle with Loki, which you unfortunately missed".

Then Doctor Strange turned to me.

"Thank you for your help Vanessa".

He opened a portal to his right that led straight into my apartment bedroom.

"Your school life awaits you" said Doctor Strange, gesturing his right hand at the portal.

I smiled warmly at his kind favor.

"You're welcome, Stephen".

I replied, wrapping my arms around him, giving him a hug. After I let go, Strange slipped his arms comfortably around my slim waist.

"Do you want to go out for dinner with me tomorrow night?" he said romantically.

I looked up into his blue crystal eyes.

"Like a date?".

Doctor Strange's cheeks went red.

"Yeah".

"Then yes, I would like that. Is there a particular restaurant you have in mind?".

"We could go to the fancy one on the corner, '' he suggested, as I put my hands on the front of his chest.

"Sounds good. Can you meet me at my place at 6 p.m?".

He nodded his head.

"Sure".

Then he handed me his extra sling ring from his sash.

"I'll see you on Saturday".

"Bye, Stephen".

I walked towards the portal and was about to step through, when I realized I forgot to tell him something.

When I looked back Stephen was already starting to walk away.

"And Strange?".

He turned his head towards me.

"Yes?".

 "Wear something nice and fancy".

 Doctor Strange chuckled.

"You don't like my tunic?" he said, teasingly.

I couldn't help but chuckle back.

"It's a date, Strange; We shouldn't be wearing our superhero outfits".

I stepped through the portal walking into my bedroom apartment.
