Tang Beibei didn't leave with Fu Jin after school.
She went to the library first to finish her homework and revision for today's lessons. And then she rushed to Professor Chen's office to update him on Madam Wu.
Professor Chen was in a good mood today, so he taught her a little longer and Tang Beibei took notes seriously.
Before the session ended, Tang Beibei told him what Madam Wu's doctor, the chief physician, said to her and asked Professor Chen what he thought.
Professor Chen sighed. "Although we are students of medicine, we don't have to help everyone. Do your best with what you already have on your plate."
"Helping other patients will be up to fate."
Professor Chen was not superstitious. He was just worried that this young girl would be too anxious to help others and if she failed, she might blame herself and be stuck with guilt forever.
It was unrealistic to expect doctors to be like God with universal love.
