Three days has passed since then. Zhou Lin has made all the preparations within these days. Buying the chairs and tables and then upgrading all of it into Rare grades. Hunting for more meats on the shallow parts of the forest for the ingredients. Buying enough plates and chopsticks and also upgrading them to Rare grades, etc.
The front entrance of his house looks gorgeous. With all the traditional designs, and the antique looking atmosphere, it feels like anyone who enters here will feel themselves going to the ancient times. It wasn't even him who designed this, but just automatically happened when he upgraded his house. The curtains and the placement of windows, even how the walls are formed are made through the upgrades only.
Anything is ready. The only thing left is opening his shop.
Thanks to his friendship with Old Wang, he manages to advertise his pavilion by letting them spread it through word of mouth. He might have no customers for now, but he is sure he will get someone later. Maybe next day or next week?
He is not really optimistic that he will get a customer on the first day. That's just being too arrogant. He is proud of his cooking, but that doesn't mean he can attract a customer with that flimsy reason. They don't even know what his restaurant is all about.
So he will just wait. His large pavilion is pretty eye-catching after all so he is hoping he gets a customer at least on the next day.
"Okay, time to put the sign." He muttered to himself with a smile before walking to the door. Carrying a wooden sign that shows the name of his restaurant. Then he put it outside, just at the side of his door.
"Okay, now I only need to wait and.... huh?" His eyes widened in surprised when he saw Old Wang and his former co-workers lining up for him. "Oh, Old Wang. Brothers! Are you here to eat?"
"Senior Lin... we're here to eat. We want to show the others about your shop!"
"Brother Lin! I can't believe your actually going up in your life! We're here to help you out!" Bai Luo said to the side.
"You guys...." He felt so moved at their sincerity. "Right, come on. I'll treat you all!"
Old Wang shakes his head. "No need, we are here as proper customers. You didn't need to treat us at all."
"Okay, then I won't." He knows this will just take longer so he decided to just accept their generosity. "You don't have to worry. All my meals might be a bit expensive, but the taste is guaranteed!"
"Of course I believe in you!" Old Wang said with a nod.
Actually, they still have some doubts whether he can really cook that decently or not. They haven't heard him being a great cook and he always eat on other restaurants. He might be a cultivator now, but he can't possibly become a great cook just because of that, right?
They won't dare say that to his face though. They are just ants compared to him. They already felt blessed that they were friends with someone like him, a real Cultivator.
As they got inside the house, they can't help but gawk in surprised. They were already very surprised when they saw the large house that looks very out of place in this district, but to see the interiors that seems to look like it came from an ancient depiction of mansions itself, they can't help but gasps in awe.
'Just when did this place appear?' Old Wang thought in wonder.
"Come on, just pick a seat. The menu is on the table."
Making a menu is actually something he thought about. The restaurants on this city only have their full course stated orally. They don't have a list of menu at all, so customers have to ask the waiters what they are serving.
He have no time for that, and it will be tiring if he kept repeating what he can serve them, so he just made a menu for them. Papers here are pretty cheap surprisingly.
As expected, Old Wang and the others looks at the menu in surprised. It was a novel concept unheard of in this region.
People here can write and read normally. It is needed so they can work and help with the society. Though there are no schools, but there is always some dedicated place where children can learn how to read and write.
So they can understand what is written on the menu.
"There is pork here!?" One of them exclaimed in surprised.
Meat is generally a luxury meal on this world. Only those who are wealthy or have a really high income can afford to eat meat regularly. Low income workers like them only eat meat on occasions.
"It's true... it's slightly more expensive than the usual ones..." One of them says in surprise.
Meals with meat is already expensive enough. Seeing that the cost here is 20% more expensive makes them a bit hesitant.
"Stop looking like that. We are here to support Senior Lin. Don't worry, I will treat you all to a meal, so don't hesitate!" Old Wang told them.
"Thank you, Old Wang!" All of them looks at him in gratitude.
Old Wang truly have a big heart. He is always so good even on his workers.
All of them quickly decided what to order. Most of what's written on the menu are meaty food. Only some have vegetables in it.
"Okay, we would like to order!" Old Wang said after making sure that all of them is done browsing the menu.
When Zhou Lin got closer to listen, Old Wang told him politely about all their orders. He made sure to say it clearly and slowly so Zhou Lin won't get overwhelmed and to make sure he clearly understands him.
Zhou Lin can notice how he is talking and just listen carefully. He felt a bit warm seeing just how considerate Old Wang is.
Though it also felt somewhat weird. He is fine if he talks fast. His senses are very sharp that he can remember even the most insignificant thing.
"Okay, please wait a moment." He said before leaving their table.
They felt a bit weird hearing Zhou Lin being polite to them. He might be acting as the waiter now, but he is still a cultivator.
"Don't say anything." Old Wang warned them.
Old Wang already saw how determined Zhou Lin wanted to stay living like a mortal. He didn't want to offend him just because the others are confused and uncomfortable at his politeness.
'... Though, I wonder just where did he get these meat?' He thought to himself as he looks at the words written on the menu.
