Ava
“Yeah, I’ve heard the rumors. Ain’t nothing to do with us,” the old man says, spitting a wad of dark spit on the ground. He rubs the back of his neck and scowls at me.
“Look,” I say, trying to calm him down. “I know it sounds hard to believe, but it’s true. There is a crazed alpha out there who is bound to end up this way eventually. The only way any of us can hope to get through this is together.”
“Yeah? Well, where’s YOUR alpha? Shouldn’t I be speaking to them?” He eyes me with large silver eyes, the bags under them sagging with age.
“She went to The Andrews pack. She felt the best way to spread the word across Pennsylvania was to split up. I am her daughter and heir,” I don’t say that I never intend to take her place as alpha.
“We must combine all of our forces to prevent Nathan and his pack from taking over and, perhaps, enslaving all of humanity.”
