Chapter 30: PREY

Nick’s alarm wakes us up at six in the morning. That’s not much later than I woke up yesterday, but we both feel quite rested. Our, well, activity last night was more than enough to get us tired by bedtime.

Who would have guessed another hook-up was the thing I needed to fix my sleep schedule?

“I should make breakfast,” I say, as I roll out of bed.

“No,” Nick replies. “You don’t have to. I can do it.”

“You need to get ready for work. It’ll save you time if I make breakfast while you shower.”

He tries to rebut that, but he can’t, so he gets in the shower while I go to his fridge. Okay. Breakfast. I need to get something together.
