“Aidan, I’m being serious,” Edmund hisses at him, attempting to yank him back onto the ferry until a sizeable enough crowd has formed around them.
“So am I, lover,” Aidan purrs at him, letting himself be pulled into Edmund’s space.
Resisting the urge to kiss him, Edmund instead figures the best way to keep Aidan safe is total transparency.
But they would have to get off this blasted boat first.
“Just follow my lead, please? I promise I’ll explain everything.” Edmund gives him the most genuine look he can manage under the circumstances.
“My apologies, dearest. Would you understand if I said I’m simply this keen to meet your parents?” Aidan replies, falling into step beside Edmund.
The ferry is emptying in earnest now, the crowd a tidal force pushing past any hope of control by any of the jetty guards.
“I’m keen for you to meet them,” Edmund agrees. “Harry, as well. He promised to be there today.”
