Big Dog

Once me and Rudeus re-entered the dungeon, we traversed the hallways to find the trapped dog.

"So.... Ceobe, how come you can speak Japanese?" while we are walking, Rudeus inquires a question.

"Well, you see. I was originally a normal Japanese girl who got home from an anime convention. I went to sleep and then woke up here" I roughly told him about my origin and he nodded in understanding.

"So, Ceobe wasn't really your name, is it"

"Yup"

"What's your real name then"

"Tell me yours, first"

"I don't want to"

"Well, I'm not telling mine either"

While me and Rudeus were arguing, I smelled the scent of the dog, as well as the scent two people on the distance.

"Rudeus, I smell the dog"

"Great, lead the way"

"I also smell two people over there"

"Oh no, let's hurry then"

After informing Rudeus about the danger, we hurried to where the dog was.

Arriving at our desired destination, we finally found the dog.

That is... the dog we were searching the whole time was really huge.

I'm not just talking about a husky-sized dog. Rather, it looks like an oversized Shiba.

"Wow, that's a huge dog"

"Yeah, tell me about it"

"Okay, let's free this dog before... Ouch"

When Rudeus tried to approach the huge Shiba, he bumps into something blocking the way.

"Are you okay, Rudeus?"

"I'm fine. It looks like I bump into a magic barrier"

A magic barrier, huh. So that explains a lot. If that was the case, there must be a trigger to switch off the barrier, according to my video game knowledge that is.

"There must a switch to free this dog from this barrier"

"I know. I'm working on it"

While Rudeus is disabling the barrier, I smelled someone approaching closer.

"Umm, dude. We have company" I worriedly informed Rudeus.

"I see, check if they are nearby. I'll take care of the barrier"

"Roger that"

After Rudeus told me what to do, I head towards the cell's doorway and check if the people were incoming.

I peek my head through the doorway and saw two grown men with animal ears were walking towards our direction. One of them is quite old but the other one is really buff and dangerous.

'Yikes, I need to warn Rudeus about this'

As I turn around and inform about the incoming danger, I was shocked by what I am seeing right now.

"Stop, doggie. I'm still not married yet, hehe~"

From what I am seeing right now, it looks like Rudeus is riding on the huge Shiba's belly while he nonchalantly caressing him. Seeing this, I was completely weirded out, so I decided to put a stop to this immediately.

*Bonk*

"Oww! What gives, Ceobe?"

"Dude, this is not the time to play around. We need to go"

"Okay, get it. Please stop hitting m...."

"Hey!!"

While I was scolding Rudeus, we heard a loud yell echoing within the cell. Me and Rudeus turn our heads and saw the beast man at the entrance, looking a bit furious about something.

*Unknown language gibberish*

The beast man then spoke while he points at me. I was confused by what he meant, so I turn my attention to Rudeus and ask him to translate it for me.

"Psst, what did he say?"

"He said [What are you doing there, little one?]"

"I see, then how do I say [I help friend set free big dog] to him"

"Well, you say..."

Rudeus told me the translation of the what I am going to say and then I spoke to the beast man with the translated message.

However, the result is not promising because the beast man looks angry.

[Third POV, earlier]

Before the beast man encounters Rudeus and Ceobe. He was with the older beast man, both walking at the hallways.

"[Gyes, be careful. I can smell a human along with the one of the missing kids and the Holy Beast]" says the elderly beast man.

"[I understood]"

As they walk closer to the prison cell, they heard someone bickering on the distance. So, Gyes hurriedly sprint ahead and found an unpleasant scene in front of him.

For him, he saw the Holy Beast was being defiled by this human while one of missing younglings was being held hostage.

Seeing this horrendous scene, Gyes grit his teeth in frustration and yells...

"Hey!!"

When Gyes yelled loudly, both Rudeus and Ceobe were surprised and look at him in shock. They weren't expecting for him to come so soon. He then his attention to Ceobe and pointed at her.

"[What are you doing there, little one?]"

As Gyes asked that question to Ceobe, she tilted her head in confusion and looks at Rudeus for help. They whispered for a while and she then looks back to Gyes.

"[I help friend set free big dog]" Ceobe replied.

However, Gyes didn't take her answer quite lightly and was furious about the situation. He thought that she betrayed her race and collude with a human. Not to mention, she called the Holy Beast, a big dog.

Gyes was about to launch an attack towards the two, but then a hand was placed on his shoulder. He looks back and saw the elderly beast man with a worried face.

"[Hey Gyes, don't tell me you will attack the little one, wouldn't you?]"

"[But father, she has joined the human and disrespect the Holy Beast's name]"

"[.... I see]"

The elderly beast man then looks at Ceobe who was quite confuse and anxious. He noticed something was wrong about her, so he decided to ask something to her.

"[Do you remember who we are?]" the elderly beast man asked, and Ceobe tilted her head. She then looks at Rudeus for help and after a while, she looks back and spoke.

"[No, I do not remember]"

"[I see, then do you remember who you are?]" the elderly beast man asked again, which Ceobe tilted her head again and seeks help to Rudeus. Then she looks back and speaks once more.

"[No, I do not remember as well]"

"[I understand. Then come with us and we will help you]" the elderly beast man said while extending his arm towards Ceobe.

Hearing this, Ceobe looks troubled and consult Rudeus for help. He told her to come with them, which she is hesitant to do.

"Are you sure, it's okay to come with them?"

"It is fine. They won't hurt you"

"O-okay, if you say so"

After Rudeus persuaded Ceobe, she meekly approaches the elderly beast man and reaches for his hand. However, the elderly beast man grabbed her hand and pulled her to his side.

"[Now, Gyes!!]"

"{BWAAAAAAAAAH!!!]"

Without any warning, Gyes unleashed a thunderous sound wave from his mouth and it immobilized Rudeus, making him collapse to the ground.

"Rudeus!!" Ceobe screamed.

She then tried to break free of the elderly beast man but his grip was so strong. Unfortunately, she was eventually knock out by him and she becomes unconscious.

"[Bring this little one to her home while imprison that human child]" the elderly beast man ordered Gyes as he gives Ceobe to him. He nodded in compliance and receive the unconscious beast girl.

"[Understood, father]"

"[I will go find the rest of the little ones. You on the other hand, will try to find a way to make her remember]"

"[I understand]"

After the elderly beast man finished instructing Gyes, he exits the prison cell and went to find the other missing beast girls.

On the other hand, Gyes proceeds to approach the paralyzed Rudeus and snarled at him.

"[You dare use our people as shield, how deplorable. You human will taste punishment for your crime]" Gyes haughtily said to Rudeus who couldn't move or respond.

He then turns around and talks to the Holy beast who was casually watching the whole thing.

"[Holy beast, please lend me your strength and help me carry this little one safely]"

"Woof!"

"[Thank you, holy beast]"

After conversing with the Holy beast, he carefully places Ceobe on the huge Shiba's back. Then he carelessly picks up Rudeus and they all exit the dungeon.

Finally, they head towards the Great Forest, the place they live.
