Grudges

After the party, Alonzo found himself back in his room undressing himself. His hands were shaking a lot more than he wanted. His undead heart raced faster than normal as he dressed himself back in his normal attire.

He then shoved his window open and jumped right out of it, landing on the road beneath him with light feet before immediately walking off towards James’s farmhouse.

“I can’t believe this—all these years I thought he was dead, and he turns up only to have completely forgotten about me!” he growled under his breath as he made his way through the streets.

Deep down, Alonzo knew that wasn’t the truth, but it didn’t make him feel any better. Logic did not make him feel better.

He turned another corner and tripped slightly over his own feet and he grunted as he ran shoulder first into a brick wall. He took a deep defeated breath and leaned his head against the cold bricks.
