It took Alonzo a day to really process everything. His broken heart weighed heavy in his chest as he paced his dark room at the Candlelight Inn.

He’s always been a man to hold on to his rage, to let emotion overrule logic. And that’s exactly what was happening. If Edwin wanted to hurt him, then he would do the same. So, now all he had to do was leave evidence of Edwin being a vampire for James to find.

The question was, however, how? How was he going to slip up a vampire who has been blending in for years?

Perhaps he could figure out Edwin’s hunting schedule and make James come across him while he was tearing into a deer. That was a start.

Although, he remembered that Edwin is a lord and would rarely do his own hunting. So what about his manor? There had to be something off about it.

He could show James all of the curtains and blockades, but any reclusive noble would keep their windows covered.
