Although it felt a bit alien, I experienced an odd sense of familiarity with my body that wasn't really mine. Everything was dark until I managed to open my eyes, only to shut them against the intense light quickly. I tried again, trying to adjust to the brightness and clear the haziness in my vision. Two suited figures were standing over me.

RDA Personnel: Y/N, can you hear me?

Y/N: Y-yeah, I can.

RDA Personnel: Great. Slowly lean up; it's normal to feel a little off as you adjust to the switch.

I sat up and spent a few moments observing my body. My skin had a blue tint, marked by darker blue stripes. I raised my hand, felt the scar beneath my left eye, and noticed how large my feet were.

With this height, it felt like I could join the NBA and become one of the top players, or even the NFL with hands that size.

Then, out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a long blue tail swishing around, attached to my lower back.

I smirked slightly as I tried to get off the table. A wave of disorientation hit me, causing me to collapse onto my right leg. It felt surreal but exhilarating. I stood up again and stepped forward, nearly losing my balance again, but I steadied myself and kept moving toward the door.

RDA Personnel: Woah! Wait, stop moving, Y/N, take your time! Don't rush yourself.

Ignoring them, I opened the door and stepped into an open area. After taking a deep breath, I sprinted forward to familiarize myself with my body. Some RDA soldiers already outside started to chase me, but they were outmatched as I quickly jumped and dodged around them.

A grin spread across my face from the thrill, but as with many enjoyable things, it abruptly ended when I felt a sudden force from behind, knocking me over as RDA soldiers in larger suits restrained me.

RDA Soldier: Got him!

Y/N: Hey, want to hear something funny?

Rda soldier: What!?

Y/n: Space taxes.

The man gazed at me in confusion as I smirked and then slammed my foot into his groin, causing him to collapse and cry out in pain.

Without notice, everything faded to black as I regained consciousness inside the machine. It felt strange, like being forcibly removed from my body during the transition.

The top cover opened, and Rick peered down at me with a look of disapproval before sighing.

Rick: You're pretty lucky you're leaving tomorrow; otherwise, we'd have some issues.

I simply laughed in response, and he rolled his eyes.

Y/n: I haven't even been here a day, and you're already eager to get rid of me.

Rick: Just go get some rest.

*Rick's POV*

I observed the careless kid walking away, not even bothering to ask where he would be lodging. That was something for him to figure out.

Yet, there might be more to him. I hadn't anticipated him asking any questions, which suggests he isn't completely foolish to wander into such a perilous situation. I suspect his future will be pretty eventful.

"Ring, Ring"

Oh, my grandson is calling. I wonder what Morty wants. I hope he's not giving Beth a hard time. If it's that damn son-in-law, Jerry, you can bet I'm coming for his ass.

I should return to my work on the side project portal.

*Pov Y/n, Morning*

After walking for a while, I spotted Rick watching as a Samson landed in front of him.

Y/n: I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long, Rick.

Rick: Not at all; I was just reviewing some new data we received.

I climbed onto the Samson with my belongings, securing them to my seat to prevent them from flying out of my life—something I can't say about my love life.

As Rick climbed aboard, he put on a pair of headphones.

Rick: We're ready; let's head to the coordinates.

The pilot nodded and flipped switches that activated the ship, sending it soaring away from the RDA main camp.

I marveled as we flew over towering trees and mountains, larger than anything on Earth, bringing me one step closer to my mission. The thought of what I could do to Sully's wife filled me with excitement.

My line of thought was broken by some creatures soaring in the distance, resembling dragons from 21st-century movies.

Rick: By the way, Y/n, if you need fresh supplies, just email me, and I'll help where I can.

Rick: Food will be provided in the air drops, but be cautious about your base's proximity to Sully's operations at Hallelujah Mountain.

The base we've established for you is right on the edge of the range, minimizing the risk of wildlife attacking our ships.

He looked at me, awaiting my response.

Y/n: I understand. From what you've said, are these the mountains?

Rick glanced in the direction I indicated, then nodded in affirmation.

Eventually, the Samson started to land in a small clearing next to a cave entrance. I unhook my bag as I threw it over my shoulder and hopped off the ship. I quickly turned to look at Rick.

Rick: Now then stay safe out here and be careful of your surroundings at all times.

I couldn't quite catch the last part because the Samson had already begun to turn back and ascend away from me. I gave a brief wave until it disappeared from view.

…now what?

Rick hadn't provided details about the outpost's location, but a noticeable cave was only a few feet away. It seemed worthwhile to investigate.

"CRUNCH"

I turned toward a bush nestled near a tree. Taking a deep breath, I set down my bag and cautiously approached the sound. As I circled the bush, I couldn't see anyone who might have made the noise. Was it just my imagination? After searching for a few more minutes, I returned to grab my bag.

I walked toward the cave entrance, and peering inside, I noticed what looked like a small building with a tent-like structure nearby, seemingly designed for comfort.

I approached the small tent. Once inside, I found a bed, a nice mini fridge, a whiteboard off to the side, and another room-like space designated for showering.

Y/n: Damn, this place isn't too shabby.

Stepping back outside, I quickly turned towards the cave entrances, convinced I had seen something pass by.

I made my way to the main building, likely a safer option than remaining outside. Inside, there was a pleasant kitchen area, alongside another room filled with scientific equipment. I was astonished to find a 4D printer available to me.

A hallway beckoned me to the back, where one of those brain transfer machines could be found, allowing me to use the avatar body.

I paused for a moment before deciding to re-enter it, repeating the same process as last time.

Before I realized it, my mind began to fade, like I was drifting into slumber. Suddenly, I was back in my avatar, but in a different location atop the cave.

I looked down my body, seeing that I was wearing military type gear.

I jumped down, landing firmly on the ground. Looking back confirmed that it was indeed the entrance. I glanced toward the forest before stepping inside. It felt strange to be completely alone without any humans in sight.

*Third person*

As y/n entered the forest in the opposite direction, two eyes watched him closely for a moment before silently tracking his movements.

They moved carefully, trying to remain undetected.

y/n glanced back at the spot where the eyes had been, but saw nothing this time. He tried to shake off the unsettling feeling as he continued to navigate the land around him.

Word count: 1299

He explored the place for a solid 30 minutes; the only things he saw were trees, roots, and trunks, and that was about it until he came across a field of weird-looking mushrooms the size of his waist.

His hand stretched out towards it, and as his fingers made contact with the fiber, it shrunk down to one-tenth of its original size. He looked at it surprised, so he went to touch another, which reacted the same.

A smile slowly spread across his face as he dashed through the field of mushrooms, each one shrinking behind him until he tumbled to the ground, laughing at such a silly thing.

His ears twitched at the sound of a river. It felt strange to him that his body seemed to act on its own, but he was getting accustomed to it.

He crawled over to the river and gazed at his reflection, noticing his face with the odd scar. He opened his mouth with his hand pulling away to look at how large his canine teeth were, running his tongue against them to get a better sense of their size.

After finally being done with looking at himself, he stood up and was about to head back to the cave, but suddenly he heard a loud scream of someone close by,

He thought for a moment about what to do and then decided to investigate the sources. He walked carefully and stealthily, as if they were Na'vi; they could kill him.

He didn't want his new body to die on his first day. After all, who knew what would happen if that occurred?

Eventually, he crouched as the sounds got closer. He crept near a bush and peered around it to see a Na'vi fighting a viper.

This was his first time seeing the creature up close, and it appeared just as dangerous as the photos from the presentation.

He reached for the knife in the holder on his side, watching intently for an opportunity to attack the viper wolf. That's when an intriguing idea struck him as he gazed at the tree before him.

He quickly climbed the trunk until he reached a branch that he could use to launch an attack from above.

The viper swiped at the female Na'vi, striking the side of her body and both cutting and launching her several feet away.

That was when he seized his moment to strike as he leaped from the branch, swinging his kifie downward. At that moment, the viper seemed to pick up his scent; it looked up at him and tried to dodge away, but his kifie struck its leg.

They landed on opposite sides of each other. y/n looked over his shoulder, seeing the hurt Na'vi with their bow drawn, ready to fire at him.

He simply shook his head; that's what he gets for trying to help.

He turned his attention back to the dangerous animal in front of him, knife ready for a fight. He charged at it as the viper wolf lunged toward him.

A cheeky smile crept onto his face as he switched from running to sliding, lowering himself beneath the viper wolf. In that moment, he flipped his knife upwards and thrust it into the viper wolf's stomach.

As they passed each other, he raised his knife and noticed the viper wolf's balls hanging from it.

Y/n: Fuck, man, I'm sorry about that; just know I feel your pain.

He quickly made a rest-in-peace sign with his hand as blood poured from the animal. He looked back over at the navi, taking a few steps towards her. She raised her bow at him.

They paused for a couple of seconds, causing him to stop in his tracks, and there was no sound exchanged between them.

"Crunch"

He turned his head to look behind himself only for an arrow to flash past him and hit into the viper wolf that found just enough strength to take one last attempt at him but had failed thanks to the navi.

The arrow landed right in the head of the wolf.

He glanced back at the woman just in time to watch her collapse. Rushing over, he checked her pulse at her wrist; it was faint, but present.

He hesitated for a brief moment before jumping into action, lifting her and jogging toward his cave. He laid her on his bed inside the tent, which was just the right size for her.

Next, he stepped outside and leaned his avatar against the structure. After switching back to his original self, he pushed off the cover and hurried to grab any medical supplies he had, taking them back to the tent.

He placed a medic he picked off to the side as he started working to fix the slash on her body. He picked up a needle and poured some alcohol onto it.

He placed his hand and moved her onto her side so he had better access to the cut. But the navi kept squirming in pain before stopping.

He put a thread through the needle before placing the pointed part against her skin, then forcing it through the skin as noise rang out from her mouth.

After working on it for a while, he made one final effort before stitching her skin together to close the wound. After ensuring it would stay closed, he took the bandages and wrapped them around her narrow waist a few times.

y/n finally sat down on the ground, his gaze fixed on the navi.

He looked at his hand, which was smeared with red blood. All he could think at that moment was that this was too much for an official first day.

But when he noticed something strange, he looked at his five-finger hand and then at the Na'vi hand.

The navi in front of him also had five fingers, which seemed odd since the book about na'iv he had read stated they only had four.

And while he felt that the hand thing should be more important, something… else also became quite visible to him that he found…odd.

What caught him off guard was the fact that she wasn't wearing anything underneath the small leaves that covered her breasts. Also looking down at her body he pulled up the loincloth that hid her pussy. Revealing that she was wearing nothing under it.

The fact that they don't wear anything under their clothes was just strange, but hey, he didn't dislike it.

He shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts, then stood up and walked out to clean his hands and prepare some food. He knew he needed to eat after that, and she would need it to heal as well.

"Next morning"

Y/n gradually stirred awake, opening his eyes to find the sandwich he had prepared for the navi missing. She must have gotten up and eaten it while he slept.

Expecting to see her gone when he glanced at his bed, he was surprised to find her still asleep.

Unsure, he reached out to wake her gently, lightly shaking her shoulder. Her eyes slowly fluttered open, and she looked around in confusion. When her gaze finally landed on him, fear registered on her face, prompting her to back away.

Y/n: Whoa whoa, hey it okay I'm not going to hurt you. Uh, how are you? No, wait, are you hungry

She kept her eyes on him, but slowly she seemed to calm down, but still looked at him worriedly.

Y/n: Look, we might have gotten off on the wrong foot but just know I was the one who saved you from the viperwoof

She simply just watched him without saying anything, only for y/n to get the idea that maybe she didn't understand

Y/n: My name is Y/n, how about you?.. And you probably don't understand me.

y/n just sighed while chuckling to himself. However, something unexpected happened.

???: M-my name is Kiri.

He looked at her, surprised and shocked that she understood English or, well, even talked to him.

Y/N: There we go. We're finally getting somewhere. Now stay here. I'm going to make some food for you, alright?

Y/n stood up and walked out of the tent, leaving the Navi girl behind. He was still thinking that Kiri could leave at any moment.

Several motives fueled his desire to help her, the primary one being that she could be his key to gaining entry into the resistance group.

Y/n: Hmm, what should I make for her?

He spent the next 15 minutes preparing soup for the two of them. Carefully, he carried the food back to the tent, opening it to find that she was still there.

He placed the bowl beside her and one in front of himself. He watched as she looked at the bowl for a moment before trying to grab it but the heat was too much, causing her to pull her hand away.

Y/n tried to contain his laughter, but he did a bad job, as Kiri looked at him with tears in her eyes.

He grabbed a spoon to eat the soup, which Kiri followed. As she took a bite, her face lit up, and her tail behind her did a wiggly.

Y/n: So what brought you here?

She stopped eating and seemed to freeze on the spot at his question.

Kiri: I was uh hunting for food.

Y/N: Oh, so that explains why you spied on me for hours. I mean, I know I'm a snack, but dam. You took your time watching your food.

Kiri: You knew I was watching!?

Her tail pointed straight up like a cat going into defense mode.

Y/n: Meh, not really just a random guess from this weird feeling I was having, and your tail is giving you away right now.

She wrapped her arms around her knees, pulling them close to her face.

Y/n: Hey, I'm sure you tried your best not to get caught.

She slowly looked at him with a small smile, like she appreciated the compliment.

Kiri: Why…did you save me back there?

Y/n: I couldn't bear the thought of a pretty girl, even if she's a navi, getting hurt. If there was something I could have done about it.

Her tail shot up in surprise upon hearing someone call her that. While another person had said it before, it was just the human in front of her who made her heart skip a beat in a good way.

Kiri: "quietly" Pretty.

The remainder of the day was quite eventful as y/n stayed nearby to look after Kiri, engaging in conversation to learn more about each other.

We spent the rest of the day chatting about different things, she looked better than before

*Next morning*

Y/n was hanging upside down, staring at two navi and a human boy. They were talking to each other, but in what he assumed was the Navi language, he couldn't understand a single thing they were saying.

They then turned their attention towards him and spoke up in a language he understood.

???: Who are you?

???: What did you do to her?

???: Where is she!

The three people were asking different questions. However, that story is for a different time, though
