After all, Stanley was never sure Hubert would get an invitation to the National Technology Summit. He was just angry that Hubert offended Leonard.
Now, the Eric Group prepared to invest such a large sum of money at the National Technology Summit but rejected the participation of the Sarton Group.
Stanley couldn't stand the fact.
"Grandpa, don't look at me. I will only irritate Mr. Mitchell more," Hubert hurriedly said. Then he glanced at Shirley and continued, "Doesn't Shirley always think that she's capable? It's time to prove her value."
"You!" Shirley was too angry to say a word more.
Shirley was indeed capable and beautiful, but she wasn't as good at pleasing Stanley as Hubert. Besides, her father was not Stanley's favorite son.
Therefore, Shirley never took up an important position in the Sarton Group. It was fair to say she was marginalized by the family.
Hubert messed up everything and asked her to clean it up. That was why she was so irritated.
"Alright, Shirley, Hubert is right." Stanley thought for a while and said, "Go to the Eric Group and get the invitation."
"Grandpa! Mr. Mitchell has developed a bad impression of the Sarton Group. Me going or not won't make a difference," Shirley hurriedly said.
"Shirley, you are so beautiful. You can enchant Mr. Mitchell with your charm. Maybe he will agree."
Hubert's words were very ambiguous, hinting that Shirley could exchange her body for benefits.
"Shut up. I've decided. Whoever can get the invitation will become the executive president of the Sarton Group!"
Stanley's words stunned everyone in the study.
None of the younger members of the Sarton Family had been able to become the executive president yet. The chief executive president had always been Stanley, and he was an arbitrary person.
Yet being the executive president could have a say in the Sarton Group.
Randall lowered his head and whispered to Shirley, "Shirley, you can accept this mission."
Shirley glared at Randall and said, "How is that possible? We stand no chance, and Mr. Mitchell dislikes us."
"You can make it. Mr. Mitchell is not a snob, judging from his treatment of Hubert. You can get the invitation." Randall encouraged Shirley.
"Can I?"
Shirley thought about Randall's words carefully and felt they made sense. She hesitated.
"Of course, you are more than capable of being an executive president." Randall smiled at Shirley.
Shirley was mesmerized by Randall's handsome smile. For some reason, she trusted his words.
She raised her head and nodded to Stanley. "Grandpa, I will try to go to the Eric Group and get the invitation."
When Hubert thought that he missed the position forever, he hated Shirley and Randall even more.
He coldly said, "What if you can't? Then we won't be able to cooperate with the Eric Group anymore."
"Shirley hasn't done anything yet. How do you know she can't? Do you think she is as useless as you?" Randall asked with a smile.
"You f*cking trash dare to curse me?" Hubert flew into a rage out of humiliation on the spot. He said, "If Shirley can get the invitation, then I will admit defeat and give the Miller Group to her!"
The Miller Group was Hubert's private company. With a smaller scale than that of the Sarton Group, its business performance had been satisfying and brought out a fair number of benefits.
"Alright, I hope you will keep your word," Randall said. He held Shirley's hand and walked out of Stanley's study.
Randall and Shirley had just arrived home when they were startled by the appearance of Barbara and Kinsley sitting in the living room.
"Dad, mom, what's wrong?" Shirley was confused by Barbara's gloomy face.
"Why didn't you discuss this with us before accepting this impossible task?" Barbara complained.
"How is this impossible? We've all seen Shirley's ability," Randall said.
"Shut up. Shirley's trouble is caused by you. If you could have been brave and get yourself expelled by the Eric Group, maybe Hubert would have got the invitation letter. None of this would have happened." Barbara looked at Randall in disgust.
Kinsley stood up and said, "Shirley, I talked to Percy. Go find him tomorrow and ask him to help you."
"Dad, I don't need his help," Shirley explained.
"How so? He is the future president of the Sharp Group. You can only meet Mr. Mitchell through him. He's only willing to help you because he's into you," Kinsley said angrily.
"Then I can't ask for his help. I'm married." Shirley glanced at Randall and they returned to their room together.
The next day, Shirley came to the Eric Group.
Randall had been waiting for Shirley in the early morning. When Shirley appeared, he walked over to her.
"I'll take you to see Leonard."
"Really? Won't this affect your work?" Shirley looked at the other patrolling security personnel and asked doubtfully.
"He asked me to bring you there." Randall smiled at Shirley.
While the other visitors were waiting on the first floor, Shirley and Randall took the special elevator to Leonard's office on the top floor.
Randall pushed open Leonard's office door and nodded slightly at Leonard. Then he simply left.
"Hello, Mr. Mitchell. I'm Shirley Sarton from the Sarton Group." Shirley walked in awkwardly to greet Leonard and then handed over a document. "We Sarton Group wish to be invited to the National Technology Summit. I wonder what requests we shall meet."
Leonard took the document and flipped through a few pages. Then he looked up at Shirley with a smile. "Shirley, I've seen your information. I will ask my assistant to send you an invitation later."
Shirley was stunned. Why did he agree so quickly?
