An Elegy for the Lost

They are gone, the ones we loved,

Their laughter now a distant sound.

Their hearts no longer beat, their hands no longer moved,

Their spirit now forever bound.

They lived a life full of light,

And brought us joy each day,

But now they've slipped into the night,

And taken all our love away.

Their memories remain with us,

A treasure we hold dear,

A reminder of the love they gave,

And the laughter they brought here.

Their smile and warmth still lingers,

In the hearts of all they knew,

A testament to their kindness,

And the love they brought to you.

So we mourn the loss of those,

Who brought so much to our lives,

And hold their memories close,

As we say goodbye to those who've died.

We know they'll always be with us,

In the laughter that we share,

In the love that still surrounds us,

In the memories we'll always bear.
