Chapter 39 - Utterly in love

Muchen flipped through the document for the tenth time, not reading a word on it. "Fuck!" He closed it with a bang and tossed it onto the huge pile that had formed in just a few days. "What the heck is wrong with me?" Mumbling, he gazed at his phone nervously. He hadn't messaged that brat in two days, and he missed him already.

"Why am I acting like this when we are only… friends?" He massaged his forehead. "Maybe Shao is right… maybe I do have feelings for him."

Muchen had never fallen in love before, so he had no clue how it would even feel. "No, isn't love supposed to feel different? I never had any butterflies… never felt my heart tremble when I see him… I don't feel much when I see him. Then is it love?"

"Ah! This is so hard!!!" He laid down on the desk in frustration.

"That's why I told you to leave the decision to the CEO we hired. Yet, you're the one who demanded all the decisions go through you," Shao, who had entered the study without realizing, said softly.

Muchen glared his way. "Shut up…. It's all because of you."

Shao pointed to himself innocently. "Me? What did I do? I'm just an innocent little cutie."

"Tsk," Muchen grunted loudly. "Your blabbering mouth is the cause of this."

"Oh, is that so?" Shao walked closer. "Or is it because of some young Black Powder fan that you're frustrated?"

Muchen glared up at him.

"When will you admit it, you brute? You like him!" He slapped Muchen's head lightly. "Don't be a blockhead. Just text him."

"No! Unless and until I'm clear about my feelings, I won't text him." Muchen pouted.

"Why is that so?" Shao sat down beside him.

"Well… I don't want to mislead the kid. I'm unsure about my feelings for him. What if my friendly actions are seen as a sugar daddy, as you said? What if he has feelings for me? I don't want to mislead him with my vague actions." He pulled his phone closer. "Why is this so hard?"

"Just go visit him."

Muchen gazed up at him skeptically.

"Maybe you will get a clearer idea about your feelings when you see him."

Muchen shot up instantly. "Maybe you are right. I can try it." He ran out of the room, leaving Shao shaking his head in disappointment.

Then, all of a sudden, Muchen ran back into the room.

"What, you changed your mind so fast?"

Muchen ran to the table and picked up his phone. "I don't know his address," he said, then ran out again.

"Fuck, this guy is whipped. Why can't he see it himself?"

Muchen drove all the way to the given address. The streets were narrow, and slowly, the navigation stopped in front of a small house. It looked dilapidated, with paint chipping everywhere. He frowned slightly. 'His financial situation does not look that great. Maybe I should send in more red packets.'

Just as that thought struck, he froze.

"Aghh!! Why am I acting like a sugar daddy? Why do I care if his living situation is difficult or not!" He scratched his hair in frustration.

"Coming here was a mistake. It will only make me pity him more..." He started his car, but a small movement in the house stopped him.

The window facing the street lit up, and a shadow was cast outside. It was clearly a man.

Even from the shadow, he was able to discern that it was Yunfeng.

Muchen clenched the steering wheel. 'He... is he dancing?'

Yunfeng was seen happily dancing, his moves stiff, but he looked happy and flowy.

The curtain moved, exposing Yunfeng's smiling face. He seemed to be dancing with a young girl who came up to his shoulders.

"Your dance sucks!" The young girl's laugh echoed in the streets.

Muchen froze. His heart started to pound loudly in his chest. He could not physically take his eyes off the smiling young man. It was like he was entranced.

Nothing could distract him from that sight.

That was the moment he realized it.

He was utterly in love.

With a young boy.

"I'm fucked…."
