One mistake. That’s all it was. A stupid, drunken mistake. So why the hell was Ren Muchen chasing him down a creepy-ass abandoned hallway like a maniac?!

"You slept with me and ran? Fine! Let’s see how long you last!"

Uh, yeah. No thanks. Yunfeng ran faster, heart pounding—until he skidded to a stop. Right in front of a half-rotten zombie.

Before he could even process his impending doom, the thing lunged. His life flashed before his eyes. Then—WHACK. A massive axe took the zombie’s head clean off.

"You’re not dying," Muchen said, looking way too smug for someone who just saved his life. "Not today. Not anytime soon."

Yunfeng barely got his breath back before Muchen dropped the biggest bomb ever.

Wait. What?!

Yunfeng clutched his stomach. "H-How do you know?!"

"You KNEW?!" Muchen shook him like a damn rattle. "And you still ran? Take responsibility, you bastard! We made a life!"

Well. Shit. There was officially no running from this.

Muchen sat down beside Yunfeng, gently cradling his lover's hand in both of his own. The once soft, pink skin was now rough, new callouses forming along his thumb. His gentle hands—hands that had once played with Muchen's hair, traced lazy circles on his back—had turned rough.

"Yunfeng... you will wake up, right?" His voice was barely above a whisper, trembling with unspoken fear. He pressed their joined hands to his forehead, his lips grazing the knuckles. "You won't leave me again, will you, you bastard…"

The silence around him felt suffocating.

"You can't leave me again," he murmured, his voice breaking. "I won't allow you. Should I tie you up and carry you on my back if you try? Hah... would you hate me if I did?" A weak chuckle escaped his lips as he pressed a kiss to the back of Yunfeng's hand. "Why did you leave the city in the first place… why did you leave me?"
