Chapter 3

A few weeks have gone by since I started this school. I know I'm gonna ace this exam! Since practically nothing has come my way since I started this school, and I'm pretty sure it's not gonna be any different in the future. Or so I thought..

It started one morning when I came into the classroom. I had just gotten the friends I was assigned to be with in this school.

I sat down on my chair waiting for the teacher to come into the classroom and tell us what we were gonna do today.

But when the teacher came into the classroom she said something else.

"Hello class. Today I have some very exciting news, we are going to have a new classmate!"

Everyone was very excited about that and started to talk about if it was going to be a girl or a boy. To be honest I didn't really care since all I was here to do was to complete my exam. And nothing in my file said anything about being friends with the new student, so I really didn't care.

All I was thinking about was how Lucas was doing. I hope he was terrible but to be honest that's just impossible. Lucas would always be doing amazing! No matter how hard it was. That's probably why I hate him so much.

While Mia was thinking in her head about how Lucas probably was doing better than her, the teacher spoke again.

"Alright students! Calm down! It's very exciting, I know. But that does not give you an excuse to act like this!"

Everyone in the class went silent.

"That's what I would like to hear. Anyways let's start the lesson"

As the teacher went on about the importance of math, I was stuck in my head thinking about other stuff then things like this. To be honest, the students here are just idiots. But I can't really say anything bad about them, since I'm the bigger idiot here. I'm literally below average in math. Im literally more stupid then most of these students.

"Chloe?"

I heard someone saying, making me snap out.

"Yes?"

I answered.

"Could you tell me the answer to this question?"

The teacher asked.

"Uhm.. 36?"

If i'm being honest, the "uhm" wasn't even me guessing, just me acting like it.

"Correct!" The teacher said, then carrying on with the lesson. While looking away, something then popped into my head.

"I wonder how Lucas is doing.."

Some weeks had gone by and I was getting closer and closer to my goal. That meant that I could get closer to beating Lucas!

And it was also soon time to meet the new student.

Until there was only one day left. The day before we were going to meet the new student, I decided to go back to the private school to see how everyone was doing.

When I came in I saw people staring at me as usual. To be honest I was pretty used to it. I looked around and to my delight I saw Amanda. I hadn't talked to her since she ran away from me after what Lucas did..

I ran to Amanda, waving at her.

"Hey Amanda!!" I said while waving.

Amanda smiled happily at me.

"Oh hey Mia! How are you?" Amanda said with a smile.

"You have ignored me since what Lucas did! I was really worried!!" I said.

"Oh I'm sorry, I was just.. Busy, that's all." Amanda said, a bit annoyed.

"Oh.. well do you wanna hang out?"

Amanda looked even more annoyed at Mia.

"uhm , no thanks.. I'm just a little busy with something right now.."

Mia giggled a bit.

"With what? All you're doing is just sitting here on your phone!"

Amanda looked angered by that reply.

"You know Mia! Maybe I am just sitting here being on my phone. But have you ever thought that maybe I don't always wanna hang out with you!?"

Mia was shocked and got sad from the response.

"I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to annoy you.."

Mia left Amanda alone and went to sit down in another corner. She got sad from the reply Amanda had given her. As she sat down, she noticed that someone was walking up to her. It was Lucas..

"Well hello Mia, how are you? I saw what happened.. Poor you!" he said with a big smirk.

"I told you that you shouldn't hang out with a peasant." he said, then laughing.

"Can you just shut up.." Mia said, looking down at the ground.

"Hah! You know.. Soon we won't be competing with each other" by that he left.

When he said that Mia thought.

"What did he mean with that..?"
