MAIDEN TOWN CITY (4)

Maiden town city, a town full of perfectionists, and Virgos. That morning, crowds swarmed in every direction on the street like flocking linnets.

On each side, there were shops opened with different varieties of snacks. There was also a young lady chanting into people's ears.

'Today's sun is as hot as a burning fire, try this creamy milk, daubed with ice'

Like every other day, that was the routine of people in Maiden Town City. There were as busy as a bee.

May darted her eyes to her left, and then to her right. She sighed deeply at the number of masses on the street. Stupid of her, she began to wonder... What if a stampede occurs? What if she gets swallowed by them? What if.....

*Ring Ring*

She sorted out her phone from her medium bag and picked up the call, without looking at the caller ID.

"Are you here? I've booked a cab that will take you to my place... Get here and we will discuss our mission" The person at the other end said seriously while May listened attentively. Very quickly, she saw an old man head her way and arranged her bags into the boot of the car.

"Get here fast, I miss my best friend" May lightly smiled and hung up the call. She had two best friends, however, the first one bailed on her, and that gave her no other choice but to inquire for the craziest one's help. If she wanted to woo that man, she first needed a place to stay.

"Young lady, there's traffic ahead, and the person already set a time for your arrival" The Old man spoke hesitantly.

May being reasonable, apologized to him and entered the car.

'Finally, I'll prove to you that I am worthy to be by your side'

The thought of being on the road for four hours traumatized the young woman inside the car. Drips of sweat mailed from her face to the back of her neck and trickled down to her back. She intermittently got out of the car and squinted her gaze at the mansion before her.

"Is this the...?" The cab was already gone before she could ask. Confused, she went towards her bag and turned back around to leave. As far as she remembered, Rachel was not that rich to have a house like that.

"You are finally here" was the voice of a young lady. When May saw her, she was in awe. The young lady was standing not so far from her. She was dressed in a black hoodie and a pair of house slippers. Her brunette hair was tied into a messy bun and her face was dabbed with a white powder, which looked like flour. Her eyes, the color of the ocean as ever energetic. Her smile was too bright that May felt it was right to outright it.

"Rachel?"

"Did you expect to see someone else?" Rachel frowned, but still briskly moved fast to embrace the cold woman.

"I missed you, how long has it been? Two years? Three or four?" She immediately bombarded.

Aggravated, May thundered "Stop being a chatterbox or I'll leave"

Rachel crossed her arms around her chest and eyed the woman "You don't boss me around in my own house" she pouted and acted all childish again.

Rachel Dargan, the only sister of Alexander Dargan and the only daughter born in the Dargan household was a twenty-four years old woman and one of the youngest models in the country. She was beautiful beyond words like an angel who fell from heaven and came to bewitch every single soul on earth. She met with May four years ago, because they attended the same college but sadly had to part ways due to her family's relocation.

Now that she'd have a companion in the sick house, she was very relieved.

"Come, let me introduce you to my grandparents"

May gave the woman a skeptical gaze and blurted out in shock "This is your family's home?"

Rachel laughed and responded, "Yes, did you think with all of my money, I'll still be able to afford a mansion like that?"

The mansion was white, with shards of silver pieces adorned on the body. A red flag with the name 'Dargan' was imprinted on it as an emblem. Two statues of a horse were also clad on each side of the five-story building. Altogether, the mansion was a blend of vintage and contemporary.

-----------------------------

Just like the exterior of the mansion, the interior also did not disappoint. Two imposing chandeliers were hung above the ceiling, and the red flag was tilted to the side of the TV. The chairs and view in the kitchen also made the entire place feel rich.

"Grandfather, she's here" Rachel shamelessly sat intimately beside the Old Man and touched his hand which was clutching the remote. Getting her sly tricks, the Old Man used his other hand to pick his cane by his side, before he hit the stupid girl on her head.

"Grandfather!!" Rachel whined in pain "You just embarrassed me in front of my best friend"

The Old Man scoffed "You unfilial granddaughter, must have pampered you too much"

May palm faced herself as she barely got where her stupid best friend took her traits. Letting her presence known, May said "Good day, Sir"

Rachel let go of her grandfather and approached her friend. She introduced "Grandfather, this is May, and May this is my Old Man" she beamed after the introduction.

May bowed her head in courtesy to her elder and told "Nice to meet you, Sir"

The Old Man had a knowing look on his expression and smiled "What a cultured woman, unlike this spoilt brat beside me!!"

Rachel groaned unhappily "Grandfather, at least show me some face in front of her"

The Old Man stuck his cane to her head, again and again, every time she irritated him.

"TO HELL WITH THOSE BUSINESS PARTNERS, I'LL MAKE THEM PAY FOR WASTING MY TIME"

May wrung her head to the sound and her eyes which were smiling unexpectedly fell, and a bloodlust one followed after.

"That man at the airport!!"
