Planning how to take a gang's most precious possessions.

The little show put me in a great mood and now I'm walking along a lot more calmly. I probably shouldn't be calm in enemy territory but I just can't help myself. I feel incredibly refreshed for some reason. Though I'm doing it quietly and I know no one's around, humming a tune is still probably a bad idea, yet it feels so natural to me right now.

I walk along still keeping my senses sharp but there's a relaxed mood in the air around me. I continue to wander along these familiar maze-like paths that scare so many intruders until I come to a certain dead-end. Finding the place while only encountering one guard was pretty lucky but not lucky star levels I guess.

I mean I technically saw two and they are both out of commission for a little while thanks to the incident earlier. When I think about it I can't help but grin as I continue my thought. Well because of that and the fact that this is the outskirts of the junkyard anyway it wouldn't surprise me if I didn't run into too many guards. There'd only be people if they were on high alert or something.

While I'm having these thoughts I approach the pile of junk in front of me. Despite being quite a few times taller than I am and filled to the brim with clearly heavy metal equipment or at least equipment that would be heavy when stacked together I know how to get past this particular dead end.

I'm the one who keeps up the facade after all. So I rifle through the left side junk wall looking for a specific item. Eventually I find a tiny little box. No bigger than my fingernail with a tiny little button on top of it. Despite being in this heap of junk it seems incredibly clean when I get a closer look at it.

Sure it looks like there's some metal scraps and dust on it but all the parts on the inside which should be delicate because of their miniature size appear to be working perfectly and don't have a scrap of anything near them. Obviously without eyes like mine you wouldn't be able to see the tiny parts when it's the size of the fingernail but that's par for the course.

Once I pick up the tiny box I press down hard on the button on the top. It takes quite a bit of effort on my part to push down the button but once I do, All the junk in front of me that once made up the dead end suddenly drops like a puppet with it's strings cut and clatters into a hole underneath it.

The hole is horizontal mainly and only a few inches across. This is so I can hop across it when the junk making up the door collapses. So I do just that, I hop across the little hole I made and once I'm across I press the button on the tiny device once more. When I do all the junk on the floor underneath where the dead-end would be suddenly floats upwards as if being pulled by those cut invisible strings and suddenly solidifies in the shape of the dead-end once more.

Hehe, a little trick of mine. Unless they're looking for it they're not going to find it. Inside the room or what looks a little more like a metal bunker is a fairly cluttered space. I spot a knife on the floor still glowing a hot red and melting the floor a little. Elsewhere I spot a pistol that's pointing towards one of the walls. Swords, axes, combat suits and even a human sized robot. All scattered about the room, with the robot as the centrepiece.

The robot itself looks more like a mangled piece of metal that vaguely resembles a person than anything. It's feet are treads on wheels. These treads are connected to a torso that just looks like a metal box with a battery like insignia in the middle. Off both sides of the torso are what would normally be a pair of arms but in reality resemble firearms far more than human arms.

After all it's just a rotating metal stick welded on to several gun barrels. You can't see it either but there are actually several more similarly deadly weapons on this robots person hidden within it's torso and arms. Even it's head is stuffed to the brim with weapons as deadly as you can get them.

The head itself by the way is more square than round. It's hair… If you can call it that. Is made of several dozens of hoses that sprout from the head a little like weeds. These hoses are actually connected to containers filled to the brim with different poisonous substances. Everything from battery acid to Aerosol contagions if it's capable of killing someone it's likely connected to a hose.

The eyes are at least, somewhat standard. Just a pair of old cameras that have 360 degree vision. Not great resolution and the cameras themselves are old and sometimes don't quite work right but they do their job well enough. The nose is as deadly as the hair given that it is yet another place where deadly substances spew out.

The mouth on the other hand is one massive sound bomb. Not to say that it can't be used to speak but it's main function is not to spew out words or poisonous substances but more to spew out unbearable sound that would shatter even the most stubborn ear drums. It was originally used to break up riots so it's designed to be non-lethal but I made some modifications and now it shatters internal organs just as easily as eardrums.

It does have ears or a robot equivalent on the side of it's head but they don't have any special functions or anything and are really just tiny holes for sound to travel in so the audio receptors can pick them up. I don't really care too much about them.

One of the features I am a little more proud of though is it's ability to turn it's head all the way around like an owl. If anyone sneaks up behind my robot they'll get a face full of robot snot or in other words battery acid. Not to mention that the hair itself can spray flammable liquids like oil around itself and since it's fire-resistant it can light itself on fire and be perfectly fine.

It's my pride and joy. Built in case I need it for self-defense of course. Given that in today's society you don't actually need a job and it's fairly hard to find one on our planet that isn't dangerous or straight up criminal, I had a lot of time on my hands and this is what I spent it on.

Today I'm here to give it a quick check-up and if all goes to plan, acquire some of the final parts to finish it. I should start that while I think actually. A quick tap on my white stick and a holographic login screen pops up for me like it did for the fat guy. I move through it just as quick and start up a program for scanning equipment then start scanning my robot.

While that's going on I should think about the only things I haven't finished. That's the robot's AI and some of it's weaponry. Specifically the guns. I could've gone with remote control for the robot too but that's easily hacked and traced. Not to mention that I know nothing about weapons so it'd be better to have an AI figure it out for me.

The reason I left these two for last by the way is because it's pretty easy to find toxic substances and hoses in a junkyard but all the good weaponry stuff is guarded by the junklads and processing chips are expensive so if there were any in this junkyard they'd be extremely defective and even those would've been snatched up quick because if you fix them up they can sell for enormous prices.

That's probably how the junklads are making most of their money honestly and how they got powerful enough backers for the police to ignore them despite taking over a whole district. Even if they're spread thin, I doubt the cops would just ignore any random criminal organisation unless they got a cut or something.

That's a good thing for me though because I need a processing chip and if that's how the junklads are making their money it means that they will likely have some on-hand for the next delivery or something.

Still stealing them is a monumental task that I've been putting off until last. It's sure to stir up some commotion and I'd have to get into their headquarters and out too. So it's gonna take some planning. I have been gathering information for a while now and so I have some good ideas by this point.

Still I need to try them out and so I need a warm-up. What better way to warm up than to steal some weaponry parts. The other thing I'm missing is still under protection by the junklads. Not nearly as strict but still guarded. Which makes it an excellent opportunity to test whether or not I can get in and out with my stuff.

My musings are finally stopped by the beeping from my tablet which tells me that the scanning is done. Looking at the results I see what I was expecting. All the parts are working properly except the guns and the fact that the robot can't actually move. Sure it can be moved but it can't be used to it's full potential without an AI or pilot and I want the former.

"In that case today's goal is the weapon parts for the guns" I say to myself a little nervous but mostly high on that just before project completion excitement. I mean I'm so close to getting my very own self-defence robot. How cool will that be? I'll be safe no matter what happens. A little voice at the back of my mind says something along the lines of 'and no one else will' but I ignore it because of my great mood.

In that case it's prep time. First I need to review the structure of the area and come up with a plan to infiltrate. Thinking as such I bring up a map I had my tablet model for me based on descriptions I gave it. It won't be absolutely accurate but I don't need absolute accuracy for a reminder.

The section of the junkyard with weaponry storage is a little ways from here but that won't be a problem. I already got here and back so many times I lost count. Getting there won't be too much of an issue. The issue will be the area itself.

It's not the headquarters so there aren't absolutely ludicrous amounts of guards but they still defend the place well enough. They've piled the junk up in such a way that climbing up it is impossible and there are patrols around the whole area frequently. I haven't figured out their schedule to the second but sufficed to say no area is free for more than 5 seconds. That isn't enough for me to both create a staircase and run up it.

The only area that doesn't have such a wall is the entrance but that obviously has it's own problems. There are two guards standing by at all times, even at night. Worse, the patrolling guards occasionally stop by at seemingly random intervals which means even if I managed to knock them out or something, if I got unlucky I could end up caught a few seconds later.

Sneaking past the guards isn't really an option either because of the walls of junk I mentioned before. I mean they're practically holding a choke point here. There's nowhere to sneak through. Even my trick of essentially crawling through the junk wouldn't work here because they made the walls themselves. Meaning it's designed to have absolutely no gaps to sneak into, even small ones.

First I'm ruling out getting over the walls as just impossible. Not to say that I could not get over the walls but that getting over and then getting back out is just a ridiculous notion. I mean I could polevolt the walls if I wanted to but that would draw all their attention towards me and they have guns. Plus I would then lose the pole for vaulting which would mean I am surrounded by enemies who know I'm there and have weapons.

So the only choice is getting through the entrance. The issue again though is getting out. I could make the wall fall over with enough prep but that would block the entrance for me too. Meaning I'm stuck in there. I couldn't bring a polevolt with me either, lest it be spotted and cause the same issue I previously mentioned.

I mean they'd clean up the mess eventually so I suppose I could make the walls collapse then sneak through, grab what I want and then hide until they fix it before escaping in the same way. I mean they'd notice someone was there by that point but again I can just hide. Still it seems a little obvious and I'd really rather not pull the same trick twice.

What about their cybernetic eyes? They've gotta be made from this junkyard which means they have weaknesses right? Then what weaknesses would they have? They can see different spectrums of light right? Blind them with heat maybe? No I don't have the ability to produce that much heat and even if I did I could just burn the walls down. For some reason the idea of burning everyone in the place down also comes to mind but I once again ignore it for better ideas.

Wait they can see in the dark right? How do they stop their eyes from burning them up in the day then? Surely it's way brighter. Maybe they have to switch it manually. In which case so long as it's dark I can just throw a flash-light at them and it would blind them temporarily.

Still I'm planning to do this in the middle of the day so it wouldn't really help. So getting past the guards a second time is out then? What about the wall? It's not a great entrance but what about an exit? I take a closer look at the wall in the hologram and remember a rather important detail.

Right the wall's made of junk. So obviously the wall is going to have some junk in there. I wonder if I can blow it up or something and use that as a distraction. In fact I can just collapse the whole wall at once.

Looking around I try to find something that makes metal explode or some sort of flammable liquid before I facepalm. Right I can just use the flammable liquid in the robot and then light it all on fire and hope it's a good enough distraction. Then just dash in while they're panicking and look for my stuff before booking it before they find me.

It's a little chaotic for my liking but it's my best shot. With a little luck and a lot of running I'd bet I can make this work and if I can make this work then I can probably do the same in the headquarters with a lot more firepower. I'm sure I can find a bunch more flammable liquids. They're pretty common around here.
