CHAPTER 20: MEDIA NOCHE

Back to square one.

Rodney’s cold treatment could rival the chilling weather. If I could just undo everything, I wouldn’t have ruined that moment.

I wanted to pull my hair in frustration. I was so wrong, I was an idiot for blabbing unnecessarily. Because of what I said, he becomes so cold to me again. He comes home late, will check on Lola, will come to our room, take a quick shower and sleep on the couch. In the morning, he’s gone before I wake up.

“Mira, should I start frying the rolls?”

I jolted when I heard Manang Olga’s question.

“What time is it Manang?”

“It’s already eleven o’clock.”

“Oh, why didn’t you tell me sooner?”

“I told you several times, but you were just staring blankly at the door and would not answer. Your husband will come home, don’t stare at the door too much,” she teased.

I smiled sadly.

‘Of course he will come.’

But I know he will come not for me, but for his grandmother.
