Thirty- Theree: Rejected? Perhaps

With her heart in pieces, she leaves her cell phone back on the dresser, grabs her thick blanket from the closet and tries to sleep, thinking about what she's going to do about it, even though she already knows what to answer to him at school the next day.

This time Marina was able to sleep peacefully that night, even though she was saddened by the boy's answer. In the early hours of the morning, she ended up crying, because she has feelings for him, but his message made her understand that he can't wait for her, since she has already made up her mind about where she's going to live in the next few days.

The week of exams was making everything more hectic in her life, allowing her to think less about the events of the previous days. Of course, she thought about going back and not moving, but that would be going against her dream and what she promised her brothers when they separated a year, three months and fourteen days ago.

When she woke up in the morning, she took a deep breath and mentally thought that at some point this would pass, the exams for the first semester would be over and she would need to dedicate herself even more to the next exams, hoping that July would come soon so that she could move in with her brothers once and for all.

They would all be together again, as the twins would turn eighteen during the vacation period and would be released from the orphanage to live with their brother Thiago. There was still Marina's condition regarding her guardianship, as she is still sixteen, but Miguel was already sorting out the girl's paperwork, together with the lawyers Thiago had - the ones who, when they went to their old house, told them he could help them with whatever they needed.

It would take a while longer to schedule the hearing and for that reason she wouldn't be able to move in until July, but unfortunately there was a small chance that she wouldn't be able to move in because she wasn't of age yet.

However, they-her brother, the lawyers and Miguel-were doing their best to make her dream come true and now she couldn't go back in time and give up on the idea. As much as she liked Lucas, it wasn't enough to give up on her dream of being close to her real family.

Getting out of bed, she grabbed her uniform from her closet, assessing it well, because in just a few months she would be wearing it in another state, but at the school she was studying at, together with her friend Dayane, but she was afraid of being in a different class, because there were more 2nd year classes there.

He left his clothes on the bed and went into the bathroom to take a relaxing shower. The weather through the small bathroom window showed that it was changing, going from clear to dark, with a high risk of heavy rain next.

She thought for a moment about not going by bike, because when it rains too much, some streets end up flooded and she would have to take the long way around, where there are lots of cars - especially with the risk of traffic jams and the danger of the sharp bends in the center of Nova Friburgo.

She had two options: Take the bus or ask one of them for a ride, and at that moment the last thing she wanted to do was ask them for a favor, especially since they were hoping more than ever that she would move out soon so they could enjoy their new baby - to whom she had already become so attached that she didn't even know if she would have contact with him again.

Her thoughts resurfaced when she realized that she had been in the shower for a long time - just letting the water hit her body. The temperature was hot and she knew she would need to wrap up so as not to cause cramps on the way to school.

Without much ado, she finished her shower, wrapped herself in her towel and went to her room to get ready for school. Looking at her cell phone, it showed that it was already 6:20 and she really wanted to take the bus.

It had been a long time since she had taken the bus. She always went by bike or car. If that's three times taking public transport, that's a lot, but not because she thought she was the best, after all, she had changed her superior personality a lot and become more humble, but also a little cold and perhaps even less romantic.

She just wanted to devote herself to her studies, without thinking about her love life, which was in shambles. With her hair combed and ready, she grabbed her backpack and everything she needed and headed downstairs to the kitchen, grabbing an apple and a yogurt and putting it in a plastic jar to eat at snack time.
