The trip lasted for a long time, but they finally arrived.

''Go straight to the hotel in an orderly manner, I'm serious by the way.'' Tyler said as the kids alighted the bus.

''Oh gosh, that was one boringly long ride'' Mikey said after they got down

''It wasn't that bad and 'boringly' really, is that even a word?'' Cal' asked

''Err… yeah, it is a word… have you ever opened a dictionary in your entire 14 years of living?'' Mikey asked

''… no'' Cal' said embarrassed

''Seriously? You haven't? not even once?'' Mikey asked again as he stopped walking and stared at Cal'

''… no, you're my dictionary, I never needed one because of you'' Cal' said

''I'm flattered but, how the hell are going to survive without me?'' Mikey asked bewildered

''I don't plan on being without you'' Cal' answered and walked ahead.

''Aww… that's so sweet'' Mikey said and followed after Cal'.

''Hi, um… we booked 16 rooms, 1 single and 15 double?'' Tyler said to the lady at the counter

''Oh hi handsome, yeah you did book 16 rooms, give me a second I'll go get the keys'' the lady said while walking away, swaying her hips in the process

''Okay…'' Tyler said and turned to the kids just to find them staring at him

''What?'' he asked

''Dude, that girl likes you, you should talk to her, don't worry we'll be fine'' Mikey said smiling

''Absolutely not… no'' Tyler said shutting down any other form of teasing

''Here are the keys… on the second floor the first one is yours and the others are theirs… would you like anything else with that?'' she asked loosening the first button on her shirt

''No… Absolutely not'' Tyler said shutting her down and she went back to her position with an embarrassed look on her face.

''Dude that was harsh'' Sally said

''Whatever'' Tyler said and continued ''Here are your keys, line up, take them and pair up with your mates. 2 to a room I repeat, only two to a room, no boys and girls.'' Tyler said and handed them the keys and everyone dispersed.

CAL' AND MIKEY'S ROOM.

''Dude, please just 5 minutes, come on'' Mikey said trying to coerce Cal'

''Dude, it's past 10 already and I'm tired'' Cal' replied

''Please, it would take just 5 minutes… okay maybe more than that, anyway, I just need one firefly, please. This is my chance to get Sally to notice me, please?'' Mikey said pleadingly

''Haa… fine, let's go'' Cal' finally agreed

''Thank you, I owe you one''

SALLY AND GWEN'S ROOM.

''Do you want to go on a hike, I mean It's not like I'm trying to break the rules, it's just… I heard there would be fireflies and oh I'm sorry, I should have asked if you liked fireflies. Do you like them? You probably don't and now I'm yapping, I'm sorry it just happens when I'm nervous, I just keep talking and going on and on about irrelevant things an-'' Gwen was interrupted by a hand covering her mouth.

''Okay… I love fireflies and I love your idea so yes let's go on a hike'' Sally said shutting Gwen up.

''Dude, we've been walking for 30 minutes now, I really don't think there are any fireflies here'' Cal' said flashing his flashlight directly at Mikey's face

''Come on we'll find one, just a little bit more okay?'' Mikey replied covering his eyes with his hands.

CRACK

''Did you hear that?'' Cal' asked

''Yeah'' Mikey replied

CRACK

''BOO!!''

''AH!!... OH MY GOD… Who the hell is that?''

''Haha… scared?'' Sally teased

''Oh Sally, hi… who's scared, definitely not me, so… uhm… what are you doing here at this time of the night?'' Mikey asked

''Searching for fireflies, of course'' She replied

''oh, look there's one over there'' Gwen said getting their attention

''Let's follow it'' Cal' suddenly said. And so their journey began.

20 minutes later

''What the hell is that?'' Sally said staring at something that looks like a purple wheel made out of fog that keeps spinning.

''I think it's a portal… kind of like a wormhole to other dimensions or worlds or maybe even through time… what?'' Mikey asked as he saw everyone staring at him

''English please?'' Cal' said speaking the minds of everyone present

''Haa… fine, it's basically a door to another place'' he said making it easy to understand

''To where?'' Gwen asked

''Well, let's find out'' Mikey said as he tried to touch the portal, the closer he got the faster it spun.

Noticing this Cal' tried to stop Mikey ''Mikey wait'' but he was too late. The moment his fingers came into contact with the portal it exploded accompanied with a bright purple light and everything went dark.

BOOM

The explosion was heard by everyone and the hotel shook like it was hit by an earthquake. The hallways were quickly filled with panicking students.

''Everyone calm down and hold on to something. Is everyone here? Do a head count and tell me who's missing?'' Tyler said after the building stopped shaking

''Sir, Cal', Mikey, Sally and Gwen are missing'' a student informed Tyler

''Shit… everyone, go back to your rooms and pack your things, we're leaving. I know it's a bummer but safety first'' Tyler said and everyone dispersed to go get their things ''While I go search for those rascals''.
