Lilly Nova

NORTH OF THE ASSASSIN School near the base of the mountain. There is a small clearing used as a rendezvous point for those who end up lost in the forest during training. 

 Past students dubbed this location Fern Point. Because in the language of flowers it represents: magic, fascination, and secret bonds of love. The last one being the chief reason why.

 "Hey Daniel, you doing ok over there?" Dawn called out.

 "Yeah I think so, that snake I had for lunch is coming back to bite me hah, ha, ha."

 "Don't let your bare ass flap in the wind too long, or something might take a bi…" 

 Dawn feels a sharp sting in her back. Paralysis immediately sets in. No longer in control of her motor functions, Dawn face-plants hard onto the ground.

 𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑗𝑢𝑠𝑡 ℎ𝑎𝑝𝑝𝑒𝑛𝑒𝑑? 𝑊ℎ𝑦 𝑐𝑎𝑛'𝑡 𝐼 𝑚𝑜𝑣𝑒?

 Dawn catches a glimpse of something black landing on a fallen tree near by.

 𝑇ℎ𝑎𝑡'𝑠 𝑎 𝑓𝑒𝑚𝑎𝑙𝑒 𝑏𝑙𝑎𝑐𝑘 𝑤𝑎𝑠𝑝. 𝑆ℎ𝑖𝑡. 𝐼-𝐼 𝑐𝑎𝑛'𝑡 𝑏𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑡ℎ.

 Another sting, this time in her leg.

 "That should alleviate the paralysis a bit. But just enough so you don't suffocate on me." Said Daniel. "You can also speak, but just barely. Wouldn't want you screaming for help."

 "Why?"

 "You wouldn't heed my request to dump Lilly. So I'm removing you from the equation. After all, it's destiny for Lilly and I to be together."

 "You dumb fuck. Lilly likes women only. Your destiny is a bullshit fantasy."

 "Shut—your—whore—mouth!!" Shouts Daniel as he repeatedly kicks Dawn in the side of her head. Until she blacks out.

 With Dawn unconscious Daniel begins stripping her naked. Once done he starts removing his own clothes, and proceeds to violate her. 

 One hour later.

 "S-stop it p-please. N-no more." Pleads Dawn as she lies there, powerless to stop her attacker.

 "Stop? Why would I? It's your fault you stupid whore. If you had simply done what I asked of you, this wouldn't be happening."

 Another hour passes.

 "Well this is no longer any fun. So let's change things up."

 Daniel reaches over to his pouch on the ground, and pulls out a round glass bottle with a flat bottom, pops the cork and downs the red liquid in two loud gulps.

 "Ahh nothing like a good old Strength Enhancement Potion after so much physical activity. Too bad I didn't have a Stamina Recovery Potion then I could've dragged out your suffering even longer."

 Dawn just lays there not moving. After a bit the sound of branches breaking echoes out.

 "Hmm, I wonder who that is? I'll go take a look. You, my dear, can stay right here." Daniel slaps Dawn on her bare ass before getting up to investigate.

 Dawn waits until she's sure Daniel is out of sight, slowly she gets up onto her hands and knees, having regained some of her mobility she starts crawling away.

 𝐼 𝑗𝑢𝑠𝑡 𝑛𝑒𝑒𝑑 𝐿𝑎𝑝𝑖𝑠 𝑆𝑡𝑜𝑛𝑒, 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑛 𝐼 𝑐𝑎𝑛 𝑔𝑒𝑡 ℎ𝑒𝑙𝑝. 𝐽𝑢𝑠𝑡 𝑎 𝑏𝑖𝑡 𝑓𝑢𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟.

 Excruciating pain floods through Dawn's body, her thoughts become jumbled as she tries to process what happened.

 "That's a good look for you. A pig on a spit; it suits you." Comments Daniel walking up behind her. Admiring his handy work. A wooden spike runs through Dawn's body. He gives it a good kick pushing it further through her ass and out her neck.

 "Hmm… now what else should I do to you."

 A twisted smile crosses Daniel's face. He moves to stand in front of Dawn and begins pissing on her.

 "Lilly dear I hope this makes its way to you. It's your fault Dawn is dead. This is your punishment for rejecting me. And to be clear everything I told Dawn was a lie. The only destiny between us now is my deep seeded fucking hatred for you. I will do to you what I did to her. So until then don't let your guard. I'll be seeing you."

 Daniel removes the Memory Pearl and drops it among Dawn's gear.

 As Daniel starts getting dressed, he's joined by two others.

 "Are you ready to go?"

 "Yeah Finn, let's go." Daniel replies.

 "What's next?" Shin asked.

 "I'm up for anything." Daniel answered.

 "Let's just travel around, killing as we go until we decide what to do next. Suggests Shin.

 "Fuck it why not. You good with that Daniel?"

 "Only if we can hang 'em by a chain."

 "A bit of a challenge, but I'm fine with it. What about you Shin?"

 "We do run the risk of being seen. Let's do it anyway. If we're seen we'll just kill them too."

 "Oh my, it sounds like you boys are up to no good."

 All three of them jumped at the sudden voice of someone else they didn't even realize was there. Standing one meter from them; is a figure dressed from head to toe in black, a hood hiding the face, the voice distorted with magic making it hard to identify.

 "Who the fuck are you?!" Daniel demands.

 "I go by number Two of The Black Archers."

 "Are you here to stop us?" Asked Finn.

 "Nope. I'm here to recruit you."

 "Why?"

 "It's my job to find exceptional young men and women like yourselves, and invite them to join our ranks. This is for you, just for hearing me out."

 A bag is tossed at them, and makes a jingling sound when it hits the ground.

 "There's three hundred gold coins in that bag. One hundred for each of you."

 "You want us to join you just like that?"

 "Not quite Daniel." Said Two. "I need to ascertain whether or not you have the skill set to join us."

 "What do you want us to do?"

 "Kill Kino Kurosaki, but be warned she is extremely fast. Do this and you'll each receive five thousand gold coins each upon completion. Bring her head to us as proof of the deed."

 "What if we fail?"

 "Then you only get that bag of gold, and you never hear from us again. So are you in or out?"

 "Where can we find her?" Asked Daniel.

 "That's for you to figure out."

 "You shouldn't have seen that."

 Lilly looks up to see the headmaster dressed from head to toe in an all white hooded robe with blue embroidered designs, a red mask hides the face, dark blue gloves cover the hands.

 Any time the headmaster dresses like this something important is going on. It's not often that you see the headmaster in what some call normalish attire.

 "Why didn't he just come after me? Why drag Dawn into it? Please tell me Headmaster, why did this happen?" 

 Lilly, unable to hold back any longer, bursts into tears. "H-how am I '𝐻𝑖𝑐𝑐𝑢𝑝' gonna tell '𝑆𝑛𝑖𝑓𝑓' Lee, and ChiChi that Dawn is."

 The headmaster walks over and places a gloved hand on Lilly's shoulder.

 "Lilly, I'm afraid Lee and ChiChi have been reported missing."

 "What?!" A look of shock appears on Lilly's face. "When did this happen?"

 "It's believed to have happened about the same time Dawn was killed."

 "What else can that bastard take away from me?"

 "I've also received reports of you going around hanging people at random with a chain."

 "It's my fault. It's all my fault I let this happen. All because I was obsessed over my loss to Kino. 

 "You're right. If you hadn't been so blinded by your obsession, you would have realized that Daniel was nearby when you tracked Kino down in Peach Valley. Your instincts have diminished greatly.

 You've known for a while that Daniel was under investigation for assaulting female students. Dawn, Lee, and ChiChi were assigned to monitor him discreetly. You were supposed to help them as team leader, but you abandoned them for your own self-interest. Now the woman you loved is dead, your friends are missing, and now your very identity has been taken from you."

 Lilly remains silent. Then in a low voice says.

 "What's the point in living anymore?"

 "If you're going to kill yourself Lilly, could you do it off school grounds please. I don't think the next occupant of this room wants to see your sorry ass ghost haunting this room."

 The headmaster turns and heads for the door then pauses to say "However, instead of wallowing in self-pity I say get up, go hunt that fucker down, and take back your life." With those parting words the headmaster leaves.

 Eventually the thought of tracking Daniel down and killing him gives Lilly a reason to keep living.

 She would later learn what became of Daniel. She'll then go on to track Kino down, thank her for what she did, and then declare them rivals.

 𝐼... 𝑛𝑒𝑒𝑑 𝑎 𝑓𝑎𝑣𝑜𝑟 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝐾𝑖𝑛𝑜.

 "One, two, three, four, five. Let's go, you can do more pushups than that."

 𝑆𝑢𝑟𝑒 𝐿𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑦. 𝑊ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑖𝑠 𝑖𝑡?

 "Two hundred, two hundred and one. I know your legs are burning, but those squats won't do themselves."

 𝐼 𝑤𝑎𝑛𝑡 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑡𝑜 𝑓𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡 𝑚𝑒.

 "Four hundred and twenty-five, four hundred and twenty-six. Keep going, your core is an essential part of working out."

 ...𝐻𝑢ℎ?

 "Six hundred, six hundred and one, six hundred and two. Let's see some hustle. You have forty-eight more laps to run."

 Lilly smiles to herself remembering the day she declared Kino her rival. This gives her the boost she needed to finish her lap.

 "Good job, Lilly"

 "What's next?" She asked panting heavily.

 "Breakfast. Go get cleaned up."

 "I'm good. What's next?"

 "Lilly."

 "Bob o ran."

 "You asked me to help train you. You said you would follow my instructions. Now go get cleaned up; it's time to eat."

 "Fine."

 "Thank you. And it's Bob."

 Later at a mess hall table.

 "Your speed, endurance, strength, focus, and reflexes have improved greatly. Now it's time to elevate them even further."

 "What do you have in mind Bob?"

 "I reached out to Headmaster Oz of the Hunter's School. He has agreed to letting you enroll in their mountain survival class."

 "Why would I need to know that?"

 "Because the next part of your training is at one of their cabins in the Zinnia Mountains."

 "Why the hell am I training in the mountains? Do I look like a fucking mountain cat to you?"

 "It's for altitude training." Replies Bob, as he sips his tea. "You'll stay at their first cabin that's nine hundred and fourteen point four meters up the mountain. This is to help get you alcomated to the low oxygen. You can still workout, but keep it light. Otherwise you'll suffer from altitude sickness."

 "Hold up did you really just say point four? Why not just say fourteen?"

 "You know full well I'm a stickler for having every single detail accurate; right down to the smallest detail."

 "Yeah, yeah. So how exactly does this type of training help me?" Asked Lilly.

 "When you work out, your blood delivers oxygen to your muscles. The oxygen is used to produce energy, which helps your muscles move and perform activities. But as you continue exercising, your blood won't be able to keep up with the oxygen demands of your muscles. Your muscles will eventually become fatigued."

 "Wait, hold on." Said Lilly holding up a hand stopping Bob from speaking further. "How the hell do you know all this?"

 "It's easier if I show you. Please follow me." Bob gets up and heads for the exit.

 Ten minutes later. The pair are standing in the enrollment office.

 "Look at this." Said Bob as he puts his hand on the Black Mirror.

 "What am I looking for?"

 "Look at my ERS."

 "Knowledge of the Worlds. Huh, this infers that there are more worlds other than our own. Is that possible?" 

 "I didn't think so at first; then I met Kino. Also I've read every book S.I has put out. Everything that was written I already knew."

 "Why tell me this? This literally makes you a walking treasure trove of knowledge."

 "I'm sure you're aware that Dawn's father is a Viscount."

 "Yes, I'm aware."

 "My older sister Anastasia used to look after Dawn from the day of her birth. She's a live-in maid; has been for the last twenty-one years."

 "No shit. But again why tell me this?"

 "Dawn was like another little sister to us. So when the news of her death got back to the Viscount, he of course informed everyone. Anastasia took it pretty hard. I'm sure at some point Dawn was gonna introduce you to the family."

 "I would have learned about Anastasia being your sister and... Wait, would your family consider me a part of the family as well?"

 "Yes, you would have been considered a part of my family. Only because of how close the two families are. Now even though you're technically not family, I chose to tell you about my skill anyway. You're the second person outside the family that knows about it."

 "You still didn't have to tell me."

 Bob just shrugs his shoulders and says. "This is the first time I've seen you putting in actual work when it comes to your training. Your determination to get stronger is why I put my skill to use."

 "Can I call you brother Bob then?"

 "Nope." Bob said flatly.

 "Fine be that way. Now tell me about this survival training."

 𝐻𝑢ℎ... 𝑊ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒 ℎ𝑒𝑙𝑙 𝑎𝑚 𝐼? "Hello, Is anyone there?"

 Lilly wanders around aimlessly in the white void. She calls out; only to hear her own echoes in reply.

 "Meow."

 "A cat?"

 "Meow."

 "Another cat. What the hell."

 Lilly stands there staring at the cat's, trying to recall what happened to her.

 "Hey, wake up."

 "Mmm, what happened?" Lilly asked in a groggy voice.

 "You succumbed to altitude sickness; you'll feel like shit for a while, but you'll live."

 "What happened to the cats?"

 "I don't have cats."

 "And you are?"

 "Names Billie. I'm in charge of the first cabin. How's you breathing?"

 "It's a little hard to breathe, but manageable." Answered Lilly.

 "Good. Let me know if it gets worse. Until then let's go over what you want to achieve up here." 

 A few days later the sun is just barely peeking out as Lilly sterchs in place. She marvels at the red and orange colors as the sun finally penetrates the horizon.

 "How are you feeling this morning?"

 "I feel great Billie."

 "Glad to hear it. So did you learn your lesson?"

 "Yes. Altitude sickness is no joke."

 "Very well. You will train with me until I think you're ready to move up to the next cabin. Any questions?"

 "How tall is this mountain?" Lilly asked.

 "Ten thousand two hundred and five meters."

 "How many cabins are there?"

 "nine total."

 "Anyone living in the last cabin?"

 "Yes. My grandfather lives up there." Said Billie. "And before you ask; a transportation portal is set up to help provide whatever he may need."

 "Alright, let's start training."

 "Light sparing to start with. This will help with your breathing. Then we'll build from there, adding in different things as we go."

 "Sounds good Billie."

 "Wow, Cosmo has done well for himself. Just look at that big ass house. Hey Izumi, are you seeing this?"

 "Ha, ha, sooo not funny."

 "I can clearly see you're annoyed with me."

 "Keep it up fur-ball, and I'm gonna shove my staff up your ass."

 "Your blind ass would miss."

 "How can I help you two." Asked a guard, as he steps out of the guard house.

 "Cosmo sent for us. I'm Izumi."

 "And I'm Ben D'over."
