Chapter 6 : Test
In a room decorated out in futuristic white and blue foil wallpaper. A young man can be seen sleeping soundly in his bed.
A holographic alarm-clock appeared directly in front of the sleeping young man as the sun rose in the east.
DIIINNGGGG!!!!
"Ugh, shut the hell up. System Notification."
[ The host needs to get out of bed; otherwise, you'll miss your admissions test. ]
"Oh, right, I forgot about today's admissions test."
The young man gets up from his bed then puts on a black long coat reaching his knees, a thin white shirt that showed his lean sculpted body, a slim fit military tactical long trousers, and a pair of white sport shoes before walking over to the mirror staring at himself with scarlet ruby eyes and proceeds to fix his glossy white hair in a choppy curtain style. He then opens a nearby cabinet drawer and wears a silver cross necklace pendant. He nodded in satisfaction as he now resembled someone coming out from a story, and began walking out from his apartment, heading towards a nearby mana train.
As he moved through the vastly crowded street, he noticed people lining up in front of a scanning machine that allows you to enter the train station. the young man who was Lo, begins to wait in line.

After a few moments, it was Lo's turn. Scanning the holographic device in front of him with his hand. The door opened, and a ting can be heard inside Lo's head.
Ting!..
Entering the mana train, while he waits for his destination. Lo began to see the entire city of Mesh, with countless futuristic skyscrapers of various designs visible outside the mana train, hover cars flying through the sunny bright sky, and streets populated with people. He gradually began to doze off.

Meanwhile, inside a dim cave, a girl can be seen opening a chest, upon seeing the snake-shaped amethyst silver ring, the girl exclaimed in delight, "Finally, I got one of the pieces for my future plan, it's about time."

Several hours have passed.. The moment the mana train started to halt its movements, it then notified all the passengers through a holographic panel.
Ding!...
[ "We are arriving at Lea City." ]
Lo slowly opened his eyes after hearing a ding and mumbled to himself, "It appears that training consecutively has exhausted me more than I thought."
Looking out of the window, he thought to himself 'Lea City and Mesh City, the two cities look nearly identical to each other, except that it's less crowded.'
Ding!..
[ "We arrived at Lea City" ]
A ding interrupted his train of thought, noticing that he arrived at the destination, Lo began to walk out of the mana train.
As he stepped off the train. Lo notices a young adult wearing a linen white shirt and a pair of grey suit trousers. the young adult had jet black hair with a pair of blue sapphire eyes, his appearance can be said to be above average in earth's standard.
the young adult approached Lo and said "Are you Lo?"
"Yes."
"Follow me, I'll be your examiner for today's admission test. My name is Alex."
Lo nodded his head and followed the young examiner.
Following the young examiner, Lo noticed a large number of people attempting to register for the admission test outside the gates. The two continue to walk past them.
Alex then came to a halt and began interacting with the guards stationed around the gate. while, the white-haired young man was taken aback by the size of the school, noticing a large open field inside the gate with numerous shops, food stores, arcades, and other forms of entertainment.
"Lo, let's head in"
Lo gives a friendly nod to the young examiner. As the two continued to walk through the open field, he noticed many students walking, some sitting on the open field benches, and some eating at open field tables while chatting with their friends.
Lo began thinking to himself, 'Friends... 'Would I ever get some in this world?' Lo then shook his thoughts and continued to follow the young examiner.
Arriving at the testing grounds, Lo could see countless people taking their tests inside the gigantic holographic screen.
"Follow me."

Making their way through the place, Lo and the young examiner arrived at a futuristic room with black walls. the young examiner spoke to Lo.
"Alright, stay in this room as I'll be outside of monitoring you, good luck."
Lo nods towards Alex as the young examiner begins to exit the room.
Once Lo was alone in the black room, a voice sounded out towards him.
"The first part of the assessment is battle awareness."
The voice then continues.
"You will be fighting against low 1st star rank beasts. There are no rules except that relics are not allowed. If the examiners caught you cheating, you will fail the assessment immediately."
When the voice stopped echoing throughout the entire area, a holographic panel appeared in front of Lo.
[ Simulation Initiate... ]
[ Analyzing... ]

[ Generating Landscape.... ]
Suddenly, the vastly black spaced room slowly transforms into a rocky plains with numerous runic structures that appeared to have been in shambles for more than a hundred years ago.
[ Analyzing... ]
[ .... ]
[ .... ]
[ Generating Beast... ]
Mesmerized by the landscape gradually finishing to transform, Lo began focusing on the beast that is slowly being generated. as he prepared in his fighting stance and used [ State of Calming Sea ].
As soon as the beast finished being generated, Lo immediately use [ Appraisal ].

Staring at the wolf deeply in a fighting stance, Lo proceeds to unsheathe the short sword with his right hand.
The two continue to stare at each other, the air slowly begins to be more intense with each passing second, suddenly the wolf uses
The white haired young man however proceeds to use his short sword on his right hand and diagonally slashed upward, parrying the incoming attack.
Ting...
However the wolf instantly appeared right in front of Lo, even with the enhanced sense from [ State of Calming Sea ] and 0th+ perception, the young man cannot sense its movements due to its enhanced agility from [ Swift ].
The wolf raised its right paws and proceeded to swing down towards Lo, the young man's mind went overclock due to [ State of Calming Sea ]. 'This strategy would work but I cannot guarantee its success as there are too many accounted variables.'
As the right paws were about to hit the young man's chest, Lo used his left hand to block the incoming attack.

Blood gushed out from the left arm of the young man, yet he was composed due to the help of [ State of Calming Sea ], he then showed a pained expression purposely and proceeded to run towards the runic buildings.
The wolf launches several
The wolf began to glare at the back of the white haired young man while it continued to chase Lo.

Meanwhile, in the spectator room :
"What is he doing? I get it that he is an intermediate 0th Mortal, as using his environment to block the incoming icicles is a plus point for him, but why is he using his short sword to slash the structures?"
"Is he marking them?"
"I don't think so, but I think there is a reason to why he is slashing the structure."
"What do you think, Principal?"

Back in the open field :
After countless back and forth instances occur, the surrounding runic structures begin to fill with cracks, countless icicles can be seen embedded within the runic walls, and buildings.
The white haired young man still dashing through the runic structures, kept a creepy smile on his face, while he continues to dash through the runic structures, he then thought to himself, 'I already find out its attack pattern, after all it's just a simulation, it cannot do anything more or less and not only that but I have already set up the trap. now I just need to lure it.'
Deep in his thoughts, another Icicles launches at Lo, he then uses his left arm to block the incoming attack instead.
Splat..
Blood splattered the floor, as the wound continued to ooze out blood, and a Icicle can be seen penetrating his left arm, yet he kept a creepy smile as he started dashing towards into a six story runic building that is surrounded by two other buildings.
Hypothermia began to slow Lo's movements down as he cannot use the runic structures advantage to slow down the wolf. The wolf leaped forward as though it felt like victory was in front of him.
When Lo was near the area, the wolf began leaping towards him, the white haired young man however turned his back at the wolf and said with a creepy smile "Nice try."
Using the short sword on his right hand, Lo cut the pillar supporting the six story building as it began to collapse.
Realizing it fell into a trap, the wolf's eyes widened in horror thinking how a human in front of him had stayed composed. While not only was he heavily injured by its attacks but also the difference in rank would make any human in the young man's position in despair, yet the young man in front of him stayed composed through the whole ordeal even with all of that pressure.
The wolf began to become desperate and proceeded to run towards the opposite side where it wouldn't get impacted by the large six story building, However the young man had already thought of such a situation happening.
The young man in a throwing stance, proceeds to throw the short sword on his right hand with all of his strength, hitting the cracked pillar supporting another runic building. The runic building began to tremble, it then gradually collapsed down as well.
The wolf who sees this scene falls in despair, it gradually stops running away and accepts its fate.
BOOOOM!..
The first building collapsed, and was immediately followed by the second one.
BOOOOM!..
Once the wolf died, he deactivated [ State of Calming Sea ] and a holographic panel can be seen in front of Lo as his injuries are nowhere to be seen, the environment started to turn black again.
