chapter 7: Questions

"Stop teasing me!" Kai pouted and Mina went back to her seat.

"I'll stop, I'll stop, you're just too adorable," she chuckled and Kai couldn't help but look into her lovely purple eyes.

"Hmm, Miss Mina."

"Just call me Mina," she gave a thumbs up.

"Isn't that too intimate?" Kai said nervously.

"I don't mind," Mina shrugged.

"Umm Mina, if I may ask…..," Kai rubbed his fingers before saying, "What happened to you yesterday? When I touched you were extremely hot like you had a fever and your eyes seemed dazed," Kai looked at Mina seriously and she sighed.

"Since we're friends now…" she began.

"We're friends," Kai asked, a bit surprised.

"Of course, dummy," Mina said with a wide smile.

"We're friends, doesn't seem bad…" Kai's lips curved up a bit.

Mina then looked at him seriously, "I'll tell you. It's a special technique of fighting I'm learning from my family, so the result of using it makes me weak, gives an aching pain in my heart, and…..makes me horny," Mina said with a flushed face and Kai gulped as his face turned red.

She continued, "The only way for me to feel better is to have sex with someone."

"How long have you been learning this technique?" Kai asked and pursed his lower lips.

'Bruh how would I know, I'm just making shit up. But wait, I remember my nails released a thread that could paralyze that Centipede. Okay, I got an excuse!' Mina pondered deeply.

"Umm, Mina…" Kai called out to her.

"Oh yes! Well, I've been learning it for seven years," Mina said. 'Well, that is how long I worked in a brothel,' she thought in addition.

"Seven huh…" Kai murmured.

'Would he judge, I guess he would since people like him like to judge…,' Mina thought as her eyes turned dark.

"So that's why you're so good," Kai placed his hand on his chin and nodded.

'If you say it with a serious face like that, I can't take you seriously,' Mina laughed as she looked at Kai. The gloomy aura around her disappeared.

"Yeah that's why I'm so good," Mina repeated what he said.

"So could you please tell me about the technique you're learning?" Kai asked with sparkling eyes, and Mina raised an eyebrow.

"It's a family secret, so I can't reveal," Mina refuted and Kai sulked.

"Don't worry, there's a silencer barrier around the carriage 👉👈," Kai said as he looked at Mina.

"Aren't you afraid I might do something?" Mina asked, not understanding how he can be so carefree around her.

"I know Mina wouldn't do anything to me," Kai said with a smile, and Mina dramatically covered her eyes as she couldn't stand the bright energy coming from him.

"You have too much faith in me," Mina shook her head.

"But you're not lying….why would I hurt an adorable person like you?!" Mina cried as she wiped away non-existent tears.

"I said stop teasing me?" Kai pouted again.

"Okay, I'll stop."

Kai gripped his palms and walked over to Mina's seat opposite him. He grabbed her hands, and he admired their soft feeling, he looked her straight in the eyes and declared, "Mina just know that if you ever have that feeling again you can always rely on me!"

Mina looked at him a bit surprised about his words, 'Now I think about it, when I had sex with that girl she turned into a skeleton, but he didn't.'

"Kai, are you a cultivator?"

Kai jerked up surprised by the sudden question, "Yes I am."

'So cultivators last longer than an ordinary human,' Mina thought.

"You want me to rely on you?" She asked nervously and Kai nodded.

"I can't…this technique takes away people's energy, so if I do it with only you, I can endanger your life. And you just met me, what's more, you're a good person. I wouldn't want to hurt you," Mina revealed, and her hands trembled a bit, the sight of her taking the life of someone just because they had sex with wanders in her mind.

'She's worried, I can feel the energy waves of worry around her are distorted,' Kai thought as he looked at Mina's pained expression.

"Then I'll grow stronger, so you can always rely on me. I mean as a friend and when you also feel that way…" Kai said with a flushed face and let go of Mina's hands.

'Arghh he's such a sweet guy!' Mina cried inwardly.

"Well I'll wait for that day," Mina smiled back at him and patted his head.

Kai lowered his head to avoid those eyes that were too clear, and the belated and accelerated heartbeat sounded loud. Seeing Mina's smile gave him a sense of ease.
