Words were getting around with confused whispers, but Alice shook her head to some girls that looked her way along with Claudia to let them know that she had found out with everyone else rather than what it seemed since she was standing on the platform with Madeline currently seeming as if she was apart of what had just transpired.
Madeline clapped her hands together. "Perfect. Anyone have questions?"
The silence was enough to get everyone back on task with the atmosphere returning to the light banter that had been in the air from the beginning. Alice was still standing next to the class president waiting for Madeline to tell her what to do next. Alice needed to get materials, but could she go right now?
Madeline turned to her and nodded seeing the question in her eyes. "That's fine. Head out now, and just come back before it gets late."
"Sounds like a deal to me," Alice agreed.
"Make sure you bring someone with you. There might be a lot of stuff on the list here."
Alice extended her hand out for the shopping list Madeline had already written. Madeline took the crisp, cream paper from the clipboard that was tossed to the corner of the float. It was neatly jotted down, and Alice could tell that she definitely wouldn't be able to bring everything back by herself.
Alice wakled down the stairs of the float back to her spot from earlier with the paper in hand to wrap her arm around Claudia who kept on peering over her shoulder trying to erad what was in her hand. Alice snickered before telling her what it was since it was hardly a secret. "I need to out to buy some more materials."
"Ooh, that sounds fun," Claudia said.
"But, you're leaving soon to go have your mother's birthday dinner," Alice replied with a smile.
"I'm excited. My father is surprising everyone," Claudia sang.
Alice laughed. "It's only you and your mother."
"That's the whole thing."
Claudia was an only child like Alice, so they were in one boat. Alice wouldn't say sisters, since that was a role that had somewhat familial ties. Claudia was her day one. That was enough for her. Alice didn't have any other family from either her parents' side that lived near to them at all, so it was just them on their own little island.
Claudia brought in her head, so that it was touching Alice's. "I know. Have fun without me."
Alice pinched her side since Claudia was going to go on an off-topic train. "Go head out."
Claudia nodded and finally waved as she let go to walk across the gymnasium to the doors. Claudia also waved to Madeline on her way out to get Madeline's attention that she was leaving. As the doors shut behind Claudia's willowy frame, Alice looked to the paper note, her attention back at the task at hand.
She needed to someone with her, but everyone kind of seemed busy doing whatever work they found to do. Alice returned her glue gun to Sophie, not wanting to leave it it in the open in case it caused any accidents. She huffed out a breath when she saw someone who was looking bored and sitting slightly off from the other guys.
Noah was doing his work of writing the games on pretty, colorful pieces of paper to be drawn out of a box that some other guys were designing and setting up. The side of his mouth was tilted down, looking at his words seriously. Alice laughed lightly to herself as she finally made herself walk over in that direction.
