Woman 101

Lynn immediately felt the humidity as soon as he step out the building. It's 2:00 PM in the afternoon, what would be nice to eat, she thought. She did not see Ella anywhere after their shift. She was sure that Janey would be busy by this time. Maybe, she could prepare a dish for her. She had been complaining about eating too much take outs. Well, it's early, she can buy some groceries and cook. She'll decide what to cook once she sees them, she thought.

While she was in deep thought, a car was continuously honking at her. She looked at it's origin, it wasn't stopping, she saw a familiar car. Oh no! She's familiar with that truck, she had ridden in it twice. Lynn hasten her pace, hoping he will think that she did not notice him. Which was unlikely because she glanced at the truck just a minute ago.

Carlo continuously honk at her, then he shouted, "I will not stop honking unless you stop."

Lynn took a deep breath. What is he, an abnormal? Why would the company hire someone like him?

Lynn turn around and smile. "Boss, what can I do for you?"

Carlo got out his car, he was wearing his sunglasses. He looks radiantly handsome with the sun rays shimmering at his background. Lynn was mesmerize by his good looks. She shook her head and said to herself, "You just called him abnormal, don't forget!"

Carlo gave her a dazzling smile, showing off his perfect teeth.

"What a show off, he knows that he looks good and he was enjoying women admiring him. ", Lynn thought.

"I'll give you a lift home.", Carlo said.

"No way! I mean no thanks, I'm going to buy something before going home.", Lynn stated.

Carlo looked at his watch, "I'll accompany you, it's still early!"

Lynn wrinkled her nose. "No need boss, I have a lot of errands to do before I go home, alright see you tomorrow.", Lynn turned her back and tried to leave.

"Hold on, alright, if you don't want me to give you a lift, come with me for a while okay." Carlo pleaded.

"Please!", he repeated.

Lynn has a weakness when people plead. She tend to say yes most of the time. It's something that she knew she needed to change.

"Alright, but make it quick.", Lynn said.

Carlo smiled and made a promise sign with his hand.

Carlo helped her to get into his car. He was such a gentleman, she thought, too bad he is abnormal sometimes.

They stop by somewhere in the middle of the city where various shops were lined up. Carlo park his car, and open the door for Lynn. Such a sweet guy when he is in his normal state of mind, she thought laughing at herself. Too bad, he needs his meds with him to be normal, she jokingly told herself.

They entered one of the fancy flower shops. They were greeted by the sweet scents of different flowers. Lynn immediately saw the variety display of roses, sunflowers, chrysanthemum, few tulips, some she was not familiar with.

"So, which one do you like?", Carlo whispered to her.

Lynn stared at him, "Why?"

"Well, I wanted to apologize for what I said, I know it was uncalled for. I was thinking of giving you flowers to show the sincerity of my apology.", Carlo explained.

Lynn wrinkled her nose unconsciously, she does it when she hears something not pleasing to her ears.

"So you want to show your sincerity by letting me pick my own flowers. Wow! you are sincere indeed.", Lynn said.

Carlo nodded and smiled. "Exactly! I did not know which flowers you like, so I think it's better to bring you here so that you can choose."

"No thanks, I don't like flowers. If there's nothing else. I'll go ahead.", Lynn said then she headed out of the shop.

Carlo followed her. "Okay, if you don't like flowers, what do you like?, Carlo asked helplessly.

"Boss, I really need to go, bye.", Lynn walked out, leaving Carlo speechless.

Carlo dialed his cellphone.

"Hey bro, what's up?, Jeff answered.

"You said, woman likes flowers? She said, she doesn't.", Carlo complained.

"That's impossible. What did you get her?", Jeff asked curiously.

"Well, I asked her to choose, I brought her with me to choose, but she said that she doesn't like flowers.", Carlo explained.

"You did what? Dude, you don't bring a girl to the flower shop. You have to choose and buy it, then give it to her. Who would do that?", Jeff laugh out loud."

"Shut up!", Carlo said and he hung up.

"That smells nice". Janey entered the kitchen.

"Set the table. Let's eat!", Lynn said.

" My manager is being strange lately, I was thinking of quitting my job.", Lynn announced.

Janey paused eating and look at Lynn.

"That's fine, I'm sure you can fine a new job soon. If you really want to quit, I can support you until you find a new one.", Janey said.

"No need, I have enough savings.", Lynn said.

"What is your manager doing?", Janey inquired.

"He called me easy, then afterwards jokingly announced that I'm his girl. I got upset, he always bully me. Then earlier this day, he asked me to eat cakes in his station when it's not allowed to eat inside the floor. Was he trying to make me loose my job or something? Then, later after shift, he asked me to choose flowers, for myself for his apology. He is one abnormal guy!", Lynn explained.

Janey's eyes widened. "My girl, he likes you!"

"Whew! I doubt it. It's more of he doesn't like me.", she said.

Janey smiles. "Trust me, he likes you!"

"You think? Hmm, I don't care, I mean he is very gorgeous but common I've seen this scene several times. Gorgeous guy, liking a girl, then gorgeous guy finding another girl. The girl ends up broken. I really don't like him.", Lynn bit her lips, she realized that she was pertaining to Janey and her ex- boyfriend.

"You're right, that is common, but not all of them are like him.", Janey smiled and continued eating.

"You're right, still I don't like him.", Lynn said.

Lynn was on her way to work. When she was about to enter the building, she thought she saw Ella, going to the fire exit. She was wondering, what she will do there.

She decided to follow her. She heard voices.

"Common, let me kiss you. Don't resist.", a male voice said.

"Enough, please!", Ella cried.

"Do you want me to show your naked pictures to everyone. Just tell me, and I will.", the male voice said.

Lynn recognize the voices. The girl was Ella, the male voice belongs to Bob.

Lynn gasped at her discovery. What naked pictures? Why are they kissing or better yet why is Bob forcing Ella.

Lynn took a pen from her bag, and throw it to make a sound.

Bob stop what he was doing. He got nervous and decided to leave.

Ella was left crying.

Lynn didn't know what to do. She decided to approach Ella.

"Ella!", she called.

Ella immediately wiped her tears.

"Lynn, how long have you been here?", she asked.

"Long enough to see that you are not fine!", she said.

Lynn hugged Ella. She is not the type who likes hugging people but Ella needs it. Ella started sobbing.

"It's okay, you can tell me if you want."", Lynn said kindly.

Ella took a deep breath. "They raped me.", Ella bursted into tears.

"When we had a drink few weeks ago, the one when you escape. I decided to stay, though I know they will bully me. I got drunk, when I woke up, I was naked in a hotel. Bob and Sam were there. They said that they have videos and pictures of me naked, while sleeping with them.", Ella started sobbing again.

Lynn was horrified by what she heard. She did not say anything, but she couldn't imagined what Ella was going through.

"Have you reported it to the police?", Lynn asked.

Ella shook her head. "No, Bob's father is a policeman. Sam's father is a politician. They can destroy me if they want. They are blackmailing me, they are asking me to do whatever they want. They said that they will post the videos and pictures online. I'm afraid Lynn.", Ella hugged Lynn.

Lynn didn't know what to do. It sounded like a tragic movie. She hated those kind of movies, it gives her nightmares.

Lynn didn't know how to helped Ella. This scenario usually requires the police. But, what Ella said made sense, if they have relatives from the authority, it will be difficult to get justice. It might get worst.

Lynn hug Ella, and she couldn't helped but cry with her.
