Feelings

"So, aren't you going to explained to me everything." Janey asked, two hands on both hips, eyes wide while staring at Lynn.

Lynn took a deep breath. "Carlo is my boyfriend, Jeff is his bestfriend. I met him in the mall so he offered to give me a lift."

"Okay, why was he vacuuming our place? Wait, how did he become your boyfriend in the first place? Janey bombarded Lynn with questions.

Lynn slump on the sofa. "Remember my boss? It's Carlo, apparently he likes me. He kind of blackmailed me in being his girlfriend?

"Blackmailed you?" Janey also sat on the sofa.

"How?" She asked curiously.

"Well, I had an accident at work. He helped me, he brought me to his place, but I didn't know it will give him the chance to blackmail me by not helping me to get back home without agreeing to be his girlfriend first. I left my phone and bag at work, I got no money nor phone on me at that time." Lynn explained.

"Interesting, so you agreed? Do you like him?" Janey teasingly asked her.

"I don't know, he's handsome, rich and a good man. There's nothing not to like. But!"

"But, what?" Janey asked excitedly.

"He's the only son of our CEO, he is expected to be the next one. So.." Lynn stopped and think for a minute.

"I think it will not work out. So I won't invest much feelings, I won't take this relationship seriously."

Janey smiled and patted Lynn's shoulder. "Feelings aren't something you can control and decide on. It will grow or maybe it has already did. You're investment has been made, my dear cousin."

Lynn sctually knew that. But what can she do? She decided that she is too tired to think about it. "I'm tired. I want to sleep, by the way, I got the QA post."

"Really, wow, you should treat me!" Janey exclaimed excitedly.

"Ofcourse but not now, wait for my salary first." Lynn said.

"Okay, go to sleep. You look so haggard. You need to have beauty sleep so that you're boyfriend won't change his mind about you." Janey said and pushed Lynn to her room.

After she showered, she saw five miscalls from Carlo. She called him back, but he wasn't answering. She decided to sleep. Today was tiring and challenging, but it was fulfilling to be able to achieved something after being in the company for only six months. One thing isn't complete though, Carlo has been absent all through the experience. Does he even know that she was promoted? Jeff knew but he doesn't. Did he change his mind about her? Did he realize that she is nothing compare to Tin? Lynn didn't realize a tear coming from her eyes and with that she fell asleep.

When Lynn woke up, she got a text from Carlo that he will be out of town for the next three days, he will be back on Saturday but will be busy since he will be attending a company event. He said that he will see her on Sunday.

Lynn sighed. She got up and headed to work. As soon as she reached work, she met Jackie and M. The two indeed looked very attractive, men would usually turned their head to stare at them.

"Good morning Lynn." M greeted.

"Good morning girls!" Lynn smiled.

"Let's get coffee first, before heading upstairs." Jackie suggested.

"Yeah coffee, I need that before I start my day." Lynn said.

"Let's go then!"

The three went to the cafeteria. They saw their QA manager, Kate with her boyfriend, Juan. Her boyfriend was one of the director of the company.

"Hi ladies!" Kate greeted them.

"Hi Kate!", The three women said in unison.

"You knew my boyfriend, Juan." She said proudly.

Juan wave his hand at them as greeting.

Kate noticed how Juan was looking at the ladies. She became possessive and held hands with him.

"We'll get going, Kate." Lynn bid goodbye when she sense her change of mood.

"Did you see that? Kate was obviously declaring her ownership of Juan." M asked.

"As if we care. Her boyfriend was known as a casanova, he changed girlfriends often, he never take them seriously." Jackie said.

"Wow, that behaviour seems to be contagious, I knew a few of those kind." Lynn whispered.

"Not just you. I knew a lot, including my ex." M said.

"Add my ex in the list." Jackie said.

Lynn laugh. "I have no ex."

"Good for you!" Jackie said.

"But you have a present." M smiled.

Both M and Jackie knew that Lynn was dating Carlo.

Lynn eyes widened. "Sssh!"

"No need for that, a lot of people knew already, Mr. future CEO declared his love to you infront of Ms. Tin, his number one fan." Jackie said.

Lynn wrinkled her nose.

At 5:00 PM, Lynn, Jackie and M were having their make up and hair done. They were wearing black dress. QAs were supposed to wear black outfits, they have designated duty tonight. The three will be handling the souvenirs to the attendees. They will also helped in welcoming and assisting the guests to make sure that they find their designated table. M lended Lynn an off shoulder dress, the dress was supposed to be short, but since Lynn was short, the dress became just the right length for her, it covered her upper legs.

After an hour and a half, they went to M Hotel, one of the most prestigious hotel in the city. The company spends a lot of money to impressed the client on the launching.

The hall was elegantly decorated. The new account team were responsible for the design. They asked assistance from different departments to ensure success of the events. There would be food, drinks, speeches, shows, and gifts tonight. They've asked their company talents to perform tonight to showcase the company's motto that was not just business but also fun.

The event will be attended by important people from the company, directors, the clients, the staff of the new account Fast Pay. And ofcourss the CEO. Some important people were also invited.

Lynn was a little nervous. She hated this kind of social gathering. If not for her job, she will not come. But Bert reminded her that she needs to learn to socialize in this post.

With sweaty hands, she got ready, she took the garlands and flowers that they will be giving the clients. The three of them were selected to welcome the people at the entrance. Probably because of their attractive appearance.

Tin was wearing a beautiful hug fitting red dress. She immediately spotted Lynn at the entrance. "Carlo what's wrong with your tie?" Tin fixed his tie intimately.

Lynn did not notice, until Jackie elbowed her, she raised her head and saw Carlo leaning down to give Tin an easy access on his tie.

"Hey you two, hurry up!" Carlo's mum exclaimed, Margaret was delighted to see the two getting closer.

Carlo smiled. The four of them headed to the entrance. Mr. Chen and Mrs. Chen, Carlo's parents were proud of their son. They knew that he worked hard to get this account.

The four looked like a family, a royal family of the company. Lynn thought as she watched them approached.

"When are you two getting married?" Margaret asked, while accepting the flowers from Jackie.

Tin smiled sweetly at Margaret. "Oh well mum, I'm just waiting for Carlo."

Carlo smiled. "Should I say soon?" He decided to play along to not to spoil the moment.

Carlo leaned down to accept the garland from one of the staff. He noticed that she's a small lady so he made an effort to bend down to make it easier for her. Then he saw her brown eyes. "Lynn!"

Lynn was not looking at him at all. She felt like crying but she can't.

Tin smiled wickedly. She put her arms around Carlo's arms. "The client's are here".
