Autumn lets out a yelp as she’s pulled out from under the bed. She manages to roll onto her back in order to defend herself from the assault, drawing her arms up and crossing them in front of her. 


“Please, don’t,” she says in a whispered tone.


Looking up, she expects to find Dustin hovering over her. Even though the room is dark, she can tell it isn’t him. A huge man towers above her, and Autumn can hear movement on the other side of the bed.


“Knock her out already,” the other man instructs.


The big man looks down at Autumn and tilts his head before looking up again. “I don’t know, Shane. She doesn’t look like she’s going to be a problem. Maybe we just ask her and we won’t have to knock her out? We’ve never taken a human before, how do we know she’s dangerous.”


The large man’s voice is soft and calm. He reminds Autumn of a gentile giant; but still, she doesn’t move as he talks with his partner.
