The First Fragment Of Lady Celestia!

"Why…? The paper was so easy…I meant it."

Eden mumbled with a stupefied expression. He checked the list from top to bottom, but his name wasn't there at all.

"How could it be…?"

A depressed look shaped his face as he stepped backwards.

He felt as if he had a chance to enroll in Scholer's Court, but he realized that he had flunked the exam.

He lowered his gaze, realizing that it was meaningless to get depressed now, and turned around, ready to go away from the university.

Until….

"Ding!"

[Host, where do you think you're going?]

System asked.

"Isn't it obvious?"

Eden sighed, adding,

"I better look for another university now since my luck won't stand a chance here."

He had taken a liking to this university.

[Why? Dear host, don't get depressed so easily. Walked towards your left and take a look to your right at the Golden bulletin board.]

The system requested.

Eden was befuddled by the system's request after hearing about the golden bulletin board.

He did as the system instructed and noticed another bulletin board made of actual gold!

"Ha?!"

His voice trailed off as he saw the list of the Ranker students on the board.

His name was at the top, written in capital letters in calligraphy as if showing their respect to the Rankers.

"Heh."

Eden snickered and ended up laughing after realizing how easily he got depressed back then.

The people around him felt that Eden had gone mad after seeing his result.

Sigh.

"Oh, my indigent heart."

He sighed while placing his right palm on his chest, mumbling,

"Be different now…"

Then, his softened eyes turned sharp as he turned around and started walking, resolving.

"Being kind to everyone is stupidity. I should just be selfish and care for myself. Yes, that's the only way to survive in this accursed world, and…"

He raised his gaze towards the sky, adding,

"...and that hellish realm."

There's a saying that one can hide away his pain with a smile, but deep within, it creates a wound that becomes impossible to heal. Whether it be your failures in academics, your failures in work, the lack of love, or…the loss of love.

"Ding!"

[Host, I've found something regarding Lady Celestia.]

"?!"

Eden's eyes dilated and his jaws dropped after hearing the system's testimony as he exclaimed,

"What is it? What is it?! Tell me immediately!!"

Almost forgetting that he was shouting out in the hallway.

"Hey! No screaming here!!"

A teacher scolded Eden, and in response, Eden bent with an apologetic gesture.

Cough!

Then he coughed, looking at the system and asking,

'What have you found?'

[It seems like my estimation was right. Lady Celestia's soul had been divided into seven fragments, and each of her fragments had taken birth, luckily, in this mortal world.]

System stated.

"REALLY?!"

Eden was left baffled, with his mouth wide open and his heart started pounding rapidly. He started jumping up and down in the hallway.

"Hey, you brat!!"

This time, the teachers chastised Eden with a punch on the head.

"My apology!!!"

Eden apologized and ran away as fast as he could.

Sigh!

After losing the sight of that teacher, Eden sighed, asking the system,

"So…so I have to find her, right? Wait…7 fragments? They might be infants now, right?"

[Nope, they're all grown up now. Fortunately, they're equal to the host's age. I mean, your physical age.]

System responded.

"Huh? How's that possible?! It hasn't been that long, right?"

Eden retorted back.

[No, host. The time between the land of honour and this earth varies a lot. Also, you spent a day on that renodiac planet, remember?]

[All in all, the days you spent at the prison in the land of honour after Lady Celestia's death and one day on that cosmic planet were approximately equal to 19 years. I hope that explains it.]

"Then…"

His face softened. He asked,

"I just have to find them, right?"

[Yes, but it isn't as easy as it looks. They don't have the memory of their life as the Goddess Celestia.]

[I assure you that I'll remind you if I detect any of the fragments anywhere, but reminding them about their past is up to you.]

[Also, you can't force them to remember as it might affect their brain and can cause their demise.]

"Oh…I understand."

With a grave expression, Eden replied.

"Anyways, let's go to take the mana exam now."

Shortly after Eden arrived at a different exam room, it appeared to have mechanical apparatus all around the room with a big mana crystal at the center. It was the room for examining mana!

Eden walked inside and sat on a bench while gazing around at other examinees in the room.

"Are you here for the Mana exam, too?"

A blond-haired boy, who was sitting beside Eden, asked.

"Of course, do you think I'm here to dance then? I'm not so good at it, you know?"

Eden jested.

"Ah, good point. My apologies for asking such a ridiculous question."

The blond-haired boy smiled and extended his right hand towards Eden, saying,

"Anyways, my name is Robert Michelson. It's a pleasure to meet you."

Robert was wearing a Jabot white shirt and tight black jeans. Apart from his blond hair and fair skin, his eyes were crystal green, exactly like the quartz crystals.

"Oh, it's a pleasure meeting you, Robert. My name is Eden White."

Eden smiled while shaking hands with Robert.

"Eden, huh? It's the first time I've heard this name. Are you perhaps a foreigner, Eden?"

Robert lifted his right eyebrow.

Eden didn't want to raise any suspicion, so he just faked a smile, replying,

"Ah…something like that."

"Oh, I see."

Robert nodded. Good thing that he didn't pry much, or rather, he wasn't much interested.

Apart from the written test, the result of the mana test determined the classroom for students.

In Scholer's Court, the classes were divided into five parts. From Classroom S to Classroom E.

Classroom S contains genius students whose intelligence and strength can be on par with Platinum-ranked humans. Classroom A for Gold-ranked Humans.

Classroom B for Silver-ranked Humans.

Classroom C for Bronze-ranked Humans.

Classroom D for Iron-ranked Humans.

Classroom E contains weaklings, the humans that can be considered Stone ranked but haven't been given any privileges, and there was no classroom for Wooden Ranked humans since Scholar's Court was a prestigious college that didn't contain trash.

Since it was believed that trash should be in the trash bin.

Again, despite reaching the ranking for a particular classroom, their ability played a vital role in their admission to the classrooms.

The basic abilities include the elemental powers of the five basic elements.

Air, Water, Earth, Fire, and Nature.

Then comes the advanced ability which includes Space, Time, Energy, and Matter.

"Now, number 48:- Charles Millikan."

The gossip consumed the room as the name was heard.

"Hey, isn't that the third son of the Millikan family?"

"I heard that the young master became a C-rank human when he was just 10."

"Man, he's a prodigy! No doubt about it!"

"I'll lick his feet if I can!"

"Lord Charles is unrivalled. Just like his big brothers and father, he too, will someday become a platinum-rank human!"

"Really? Nothing less from the prodigy!"

Charles Millikan was the third son of the Millikan family. His family ranks second in Astrak (their home country), in terms of wealth, while fifth in the world.

Charles was dressed in a sharp red gentleman's suit, complete with a matching red tie.

He had fair skin and a well-built physique. His red hair cascaded down his neck, and his piercing red eyes exuded confidence and cockiness.

Hearing their boasting about Charles Millikan, Eden can't help but smile wryly, pondering,

'So this shit happens even here in the mortal world, huh? And here I thought it only happened in the Land of Honour.'

Sigh!

Before letting out a sigh, he added,

'What's the difference between the behaviour of gods and humans? Nothing, I guess.'

"Tch, what's so great about him just because he became a C-rank at the age of 10? Anyone could become one if they had been given stellar potions like him. Hmph."

Asunder from others' views on Charles, Robert seemed to have a personal bitterness toward him.

The stellar potion was a potion that increased the LVL of an individual rapidly, but those potions cost a lot, that much that only the top five of the world could buy.

Hearing Robert's comment, Eden smiled and wrapped his right hand around Robert, advising,

"Why are you even minding that? Just relax, alright?"

Sigh!

"Yeah, fine."

With a sigh, Robert rolled away his eyes from Charles.

Charles placed his palm on the device beside the mana crystal, the device reported.

*Cling!*

{Name:- Charles Millikan}

{Rank:- B (Silver Ranked Human)}

{LVL:- 57}

{Ability:- Fire Manipulation, Water Manipulation}

{Mana Capability:- Good}

{Mana LVL:- 39}

{Allotted to Classroom C}

"Holy moly, directly to Classroom C?!"

"Nothing less from Lord Charles!"

"Can I lick his feet now? Can I?!"

The boasting of the crowd started again after the results.

"Tch!"

Once again, Robert clicked his tongue and averted his eyes.

Eden got intrigued by Charles' ability.

'That boy is something…'

Then he grinned, adding,

'However, I'll be stronger than him sooner.'

Charles, with his smug smile, started returning, but one of the teachers stopped him, questioning,

"Your mana ability is good. What's your rank in the written test, Mister Charles?"

"...."

The teacher just asked since he was noting down the details, but his question silenced Charles.

"Hmm? Is something wrong?"

The teacher pleaded.

"It would be ranked one!"

One of Charles' followers spoke up.

"Yeah, without a doubt!"

Another one blurted out.

Meanwhile, Charles stayed silent for a while, then finally spoke.

"It's…rank three."

"Okay, noted."

The teacher noted this and walked away. However, the whole room went into uproar after hearing Charles' rank.

"What the fuck?! Rank Three? How could it be, Lord Charles?!"

"You're joking, right? Tell us, are you joking?!"

"No, wait. I heard that the Sakurasou family's second daughter also took the test. Maybe she would be first!"

"But then who is second?!"

Sigh!

Eden sighed after seeing that uproar and gazed towards the ceiling, thinking, 'Does none of the examinees see the golden ranking? So annoying. Jeez, just when will it be over? I'm so tired…'

"Silence!"

"?!"

Eden, who was about to fall asleep, jolted after hearing a shrill voice from the left, from the headmaster's seat.

He shifted his gaze towards the left, noticing a nobleman sitting in a grand velveted chair. He wore a majestic blue robe, adorned with regal insignias.

A golden monocle graced his right eye, shimmering in the soft light. His striking blue eyes held a wealth of wisdom, contrasting with his cascading white hair.

Despite his age, he exuded authority and sophistication, a captivating presence in his 50s or 60s.

The uproar dropped dead after the headmaster's scream.

Cough!

Afterwards, the headmaster coughed and began writing something, as he had been doing before.

Sigh!

Eden sighed and rubbed his eyes, trying not to fall asleep again.

"Now, number 49:- Emilie Sakurasou."

The teacher called out for the next examinee.

A girl stood up and walked forward. Her porcelain skin glowed with a luminescent radiance as if kissed by the gentle light of the moon itself.

Her eyes were like the blazing sun, symbolizing a certain deceased goddess; her orange hair flowed as a cascading wave, adorned with delicate star-shaped hairpins, framing her delicate face and falling gracefully down her back like a silken waterfall.

Draped in a flowing scarlet dress, its hem adorned with delicate frills that cascaded like crimson waterfalls, and obsidian stripes embraced the fiery hue, creating a mesmerizing contrast that emphasized her elegance and determination. She strode deliberately toward the mana crystal.

"....?!"

Eden's eyes widened as his gaze got glued to that girl.

But suddenly, he snapped back to his senses, screaming inwardly.

'No, no, no, no! No girls other than Lady Celestia!! If not her now, then her fragments, but no other girls!! I'm loyal to her! I'm loyal to her! I'm loyal to her! Get a hold of yourself, me!!'

"Ding!"

Unexpectedly, interjecting Eden's resolve, the system dinged, reporting,

[One of Lady Celestia's fragments has been found! It's the second daughter of the Sakurasou Family! Emilie Sakurasou!]

"Huh?"

Eden was bowled over by the system's testimony as he gazed towards Emilie, adding, "You can't be...serious..."
