Tuesday - Dream

ROMANCE

After a long while, Viet and Goot's story continued.

Goot still didn't understand what Viet was really doing at that moment. Suddenly, Viet hugged her silently without saying anything.

For the past few days, Viet seemed melancholic, unlike his usual self. He only uttered a few words, even to Goot.

Goot kept holding back her urge to keep asking and pressing Viet to say what really happened, trying to give Viet some space.

However, after a long time, Goot couldn't take it anymore. Finally, they agreed to meet this afternoon at a cafe near the university.

They faced each other, stirring their drinks they had ordered in silence.

Viet was focused on his drink, while Goot gazed at the street, enjoying the afternoon ambiance.

After a moment, Viet started the conversation.

"What do you want to talk about?"

Goot looked at Viet without saying anything, then she shrugged.

"I don't know."

"But didn't you say you wanted to talk about something?"

"Yes, but I don't know what to talk about."

Viet looked sharply at Goot, trying to understand what was really on this girl's mind.

"Let's go home."

Viet grabbed his bag and stood up to leave.

"Viet."

"Hmm?"

Goot looked down, trying to stop Viet who had turned away.

"Did I do something wrong to you, did I do something that made you hate me?"

"No."

"Then why are you acting like this?"

Viet fell silent for a moment and then sat back down.

"I'm actually conflicted."

Goot remained silent, head bowed.

"A few days ago, I had a dream. I was trapped in a dream. In that dream, I was alone in a park, but for some reason, the plants and trees in the park withered and died, and the sky was dark covering the sun-"

Viet stopped talking and looked at Goot who happened to be looking at him.

"But, far away, I saw you there with a smile, with another guy. I tried to call your name, but my voice got stuck in my throat. I tried to approach you, but my feet got entangled. Until finally, you left, and I didn't see you again."

"That-"

Goot fell silent with what Viet had just told her.

Goot reached for Viet's hand and held it tightly.

"Viet, I don't know what your dream really meant, but I promise will keep trying not to disappoint you."

Viet smile and with his other hand, he held Goot's hand.

"Thank you Goot."

"You're welcome Viet."

That evening, the burden in Viet's heart slowly began to fade without knowing what was on Goot's mind.
