In the blink of an eye, unbothered by the sea of flames that would soon reach him, Axio held both of his hands opposite to one another, palm facing each other, his fingers bent as though he was trying to grab something larger than his hands would allow.
Uncharateristically enough, he looked quite focused for a few instants as multiple seeds of challenge manifested from both of his hands, stacking against each other into an unstable-looking tower.
Except, that the one at the very top seemed somewhat different from the other, as it seemed be growing larger at times before shrinking back and taking on a darker hue.
This all happened within instants but the flaming saints caught it all as the wretch thursted the tower of orbs into the ground, they easily burrowed and without wasting any second, much like before, a tower instantly broke through the soil.
Growing right toward the saint.
He was very much high enough to not be bothered by a singular tower but the moment the first one reach its limit, another one began its growth from the very top of the other.
The saint flapped his wings to get out of its way whilst keeping an eye on the mark left on the wretch.
'Not moving?' he squinted his eyes, reducing them to slits in suspicion as he noticed the tower bending, homing right on his new position!
The dragon-blooded man saw as many other of those towers began sprouting from the ground, shielding the monster from the flames while also trying to strike him down.
The saint flew through the sky at full speed, resembling a meteor as a trail of flame followed him wherever he went, he kept on spitting flames until a wide area had been closed off, creating a ring that the wretch would hopefully not be able to escape unscathed.
It didn't seem like he was planning on running though, standing in place as he kept shoving piled up orbs into the ground.
The saint of Amor had to admit that it was bit disconcerting and confusing to have to defend himself against whole towers but his blade was still strong and sharp enough to deal with those without any issue, he could also simply fly around to nullify them.
He did just that as he tried to get the drop on the wretch, knowing his location at all times, the saint hoped to be able to catch him off guard by predicting his direction, after all, the monster shouldn't have a clue that he had been marked.
With this as the mainframe of his plan, he swooped in, easily flying through the solid walls of the towers to reach the Axiolypito.
He remaind cautious and acted none the wiser to his true position and spat flames all over the place as he willfully failed to locate him.
Waiting until he felt the right time had come, he hardened the grip on his sword, if he missed his chance to put him down, he could be certain that he wouldn't be getting any other.
He instantly regretted even thinking that he could get the drop on the monster upon finally catching a glimpse of what the scoundrel had been up to, holed up inside a battle tower.
The monsters that were being spawned were incinerated upon trying to jump him as the saint tried to break his deadly momentum, simultaneously unleashing a gigantic blast of fire at the wretch.
The monster was surrounded by stacked up orbs from all sides as he sat in the middle, sitting relaxably with blood dripping from his eyes and nose.
It wasn't often that Axio actually had any backlash for abusing his abilities, it had only happened once before actually.
This sight accompanied by the saint's instinct telling him to get the hell away made the dragon man instantly change his mind and plan, there was no trying to go head to head with this little creature, everywhere he stood could be turned into a playground with his abilities.
With his speed, he could also get away whenever he wanted, one needed to get him before he could react or by simply having enough speed to match his, the saint had neither of those advantages going for him there...
He did have a dragon's bloodline though
Without hesitating, the saint unleashed everything he had as the towers were already growing toward him, all of them convering into one and striking him, pushing him back into the sky before he could do anything about it.
The damage was neglible despite this tower being much tougher than the others, but that hadn't been the reason for the sudden dread he had felt, forming right after the tower, something else manifested at its top.
Old battle towers could sometime develop a will of their own if they had a core at the base of their creation, which was unusual, for battle towers typically sprouted from nothingness unlike dungeons.
The will would manifest into a guardian of great strength, standing at the very top or very bottom of a tower, a golem-like being made from the very walls of the structure, with the core embedded into it and giving it life.
The tower being far from straight, the guardian was created above nothing, right above the saint, who could only block with all of his strength as the guardian joined both of its hands together and smashed them into his body.
Now, he really was very much like a meteor, as he fell right to the ground, followed closely by the guardian who stomped him with both feet.
The mind of the tower soon came stumbling back as the frail-looking thing he had crushed decided to stand up.
His wings had taken the most damage, utterly ruined.
He had also been severely injured by the last two attacks but his draconic constution allowed him to toughen up through it, for a while at least.
His sword had been miraculously left intact from the impacts but he didn't dare hope of victory, the wretch was right behind the guardian, closely followed by large monsters clad in dark, which the saint had no clue about how they had even gotten there.
With his injuries, and the opponents in front of him, he was doomed to death, not even able to properly run away.
With a snap of his fingers, Axio sentenced the sword saint to death, not even bothering to remember who he was and how glorious his rise had been, corpses had no history.
