Even the first floor of the guild was elevated, to look through a window from the outside one would either need to climb up or be freakishly tall.
Whatever the right option was in this case, the thing outside didn't seem to have noticed Superstes, since the hanging body of the kind old man was blocking her from view.
Even with her augmented sight, Superstes was unable to make out much the watcher's features, since he had his face face pressed up against the glass and was using his hands to get a better look.
She could only tell that he was reddish skin tone and had huge hands.
Being able to see him from her own position, the creature soon recognised her presence in the room.
He stayed still for a few seconds, the heroine expecting him to blast through the glass at any point.
He didn't force his way inside, and simply crouched down until she could no longer see him, getting out of her vision without a sound.
Unless he had a couple more hands to use, he had only bent down to disappear, meaning that he was indeed, freakishly tall.
'...' Superstes scratched her chin in wonder.
The display just now had told her that the creature roaming the desolate city didn't know her exact location at all times, she hadn't been focusing on concealing her presence either, meaning that she could easily catch him off guard.
Only problem being that he seemed to be quite the stealthy one, he had crept up to the window and gone away without letting out a single sound or causing even the slighest of commotions.
For a thing his size, that was rather impressive, and worrying.
'Sorry about that' she apologised before quickly putting her plan into motion.
She had expected the creature to come inside the guild and it hadn't wasted much time.
The doors leading inside were gently pushed, as though a soft breeze was to be blamed for this action.
It was neither a breeze, nor was it soft.
A hulking monster slowly squeezed through the opened double door, tucking his huge arms and shoulders close to his body as he leaned forward.
His movements were so steady and calm, as though he was afraid of damaging something.
He calmly looked around the guild befor turning around and closing the doors, doing as though he was handling a fragile little baby.
Most surprising, he reached out into a room near the entrance and grabbed keys, they looked like children toys in his hands, no doubt could he easily crush but just like for everything else, he was careful and meticulous as he inserted the keys, turned them and pulled them out.
The point of the maneuver was just like for the gate before, to lock Superstes in, but for some reason, the monster deposited the keys back in their original spot rather than destoying them.
He walked forward, not preocuppied by the fact that he had left an obvious way out, not that the doors could stop the heroine, but still.
The monster moved deeper into the guild, checking every room he came across, making sudden movements as he entered them, probably expecting an ambush.
Still without making a sound, he arrived into the hangman's room, the only thing that was missing was Superstes herself.
The monster looked around the hanged corpse, but finding nothing, he turned around, believing that the blonde girl had probably moved up a floor.
He slightly looked up for no particular reason, only to meet another gaze.
The empty and livid gaze of a dead man, his body tucked onto of one of the beams.
It only took less than a second for him to understand where danger truly was.
Turning on his heels with a bit too much momentum, he swung one of his massive arms only for it to be met by a blinding golden light.
The golden blade cut into his wrist as though it was hot butter, he quickly pulled back to try and save his hand.
It was severed, but it was only holding on by a thread.
The monster continued to back off as he attempted to put his wrist and forearm back together in vain.
Superstes got down from her hiding spot, quite proud of her idea but not so proud about her surprise attack.
"You just had to look up, huh?" she was holding a sword infused with the golden energy, this time she wouldn't need to spend time picking and choosing what to hit and what not to.
She could just swing her obliterating blade of gold without consequences.
Getting a good look at this monster, she could now see how disgusting he was.
It a mass of muscles.
Quite literally, he was nothing but exposed muscles on every inch of his body.
As it turns out, he was both a huge guy and had a while bunch of arms.
In fact, he had over twenty but apart from the two massive ones, they were all limp and got smaller and smaller the lower the got.
His mains two hands had twenty fingers each, all put in correct positions, making all of them usable for any tasks.
He was on his toes constantly, probably why he was so quiet, despite having humanoid feet, only his toes were touching the ground.
As for the main culprit of his unholy appearance, his face looked quite round, with only two sets of features.
His eight eyes, eight human eyes of various colors, four on each side of his face, arranged in the shape of a cross.
Lastly, he had a mouth, which stretched way too far, if he opened his jaw whole, he would probably be able to use the top of his head to scratch the back of his neck.
It was filled with hundreds of little, perfectly identical pristine white teeth.
"Raaaah!" he emmited a low growl, which oddly began turning more like into a human scream as it went on.
