*BOOM*
The floor under Orion caved in as he jumped off the hill towards the village below. He had his Nodachi in his right hand and his left was reaching for an axe on his back.
As he flew downwards he swung his left arm down, sending the axe flying towards the goblin close to the small child.
*WOOSH* *BAM*
The axe flew over the little girl's head making her hair flutter as it cut cleanly through the goblins head, getting wedged into the ground.
*BOOM*
Orion landed on a couple of goblins and completely crushed their bodies and the ground beneath him. The villagers couldn't feel the killing intent and blood lust coming from Orion so they just saw a giant man with a monstrous weapon and armor.
Orion had complete mastery over his aura due to the fact that he lived on the battlefield for almost all of his life. The goblins on the other hand, were so frightened by Orion they couldn't even breathe properly.
Goblins are vicious and evil by nature and Orion's aura causes more mental damage on those with evil tendencies. Orion released his aura completely and encased the entire village, making all the goblins present struggle to move.
The goblins that began to pass out from Orion's aura were hallucinating and saw a behemoth of a beast killing them effortlessly thousands of times. The aura behind Orion felt like a fierce ocean of blood and blades that cuts through everything in his path, swallowing them whole.
Orion exhaled a breath of steam and unsheathed his Tachi with his free hand. "Gale step" Orion whispered as he disappeared from the eyes of those around him.
Orion first targeted the goblins that were attempting to drag the women away. This allowed the women to run and come together somewhere safe.
Orion weaved through the nearby huts and villagers as they felt a huge gust of wind pass by them. One by one the heads of the goblins got decapitated by his Tachi and when Orion reached a group of goblins, he would swing his long Nodachi slicing them all in a single swing.
The force behind his large blade was so powerful that after the group of goblins were cut in half, the wind blasted them into the air causing a brutal scene for all the spectators to see.
The goblins that were unable to move could only await their deaths as the giant blades Orion wielded cleaved and blew past all of them effortlessly.
Orion cycled his mana in his legs so he could take care of as many goblins as fast as possible. The villagers noticed that Orion was friendly and decided to attack the defenceless goblins.
"STOP!" Orion bellowed and scared the villagers as they quickly stopped in their tracks. "Help the wounded and gather your people! Don't waste your time on these pests!" Orion made the villagers get out of the way and deal with the important things instead.
The villagers realized that Orion was thinking about their safety and quickly forgot about the fear they just felt. They quickly dropped their poorly built weapons and ran in all directions looking for their friends and family.
Luckily, the goblins only killed the men and were looking to take the women to their hide out. There were major casualties in the village but it could have been completely wiped out if it was anything other than goblins.
Amon and the ten wolves joined Orion and made quick work of the goblins. When the pack of wolves joined the fight the villagers were shocked but they quickly noticed they were also on their side.
Orion continued to cut through the hundreds of goblins as fast as he could. Blood and limbs were sent flying with every swing of his two swords. When Amon and the wolves saw Orion fight, they realized he could have wiped them all out easily even if they had their whole pack at that time.
A couple of minutes later, Orion cut down the last goblin and sheathed his two swords. "System, do these guys have cores?" Orion asked.
[NO. ONLY THE EVOLUTIONS ABOVE THE COMMON GOBLIN WILL HAVE CORES]
'Evolutions?' Orion thought it was weird that the system used this word but he didn't think much of it and walked back towards the group of villagers.
Orion took off his fearsome helmet and stored it away as he walked towards the group of people. He was surprised to see that these people weren't normal humans but some form of beast men.
On planet Gaia there were beasts and humans, there was no in between. These people had huge white rabbit ears and fluffy short tails. This was the first time Orion met a beast man and wasn't sure if they would understand him.
[WHEN THE HOST WAS TRANSPORTED TO THIS WORLD I WAS ABLE TO IMPLANT THE COMMON TONGUE INTO THE HOST]
'Do you always read my mind, System?' Orion asked annoyed.
[INDEED. WE ARE NOW ONE ENTITY, NOT ONE LIVING IN ANOTHER]
'Ugh, that's creepy,' Orion thought but the system remained quiet. Orion stopped in front of the beast men and looked down at what was left of the village. Orion was about seven feet tall so he towered above all the villagers, who were at most 5'10".
The villagers looked up at the giant man covered in green blood. His aura was sharp and emitted a natural pressure that demanded respect. The same thought coursed through all the villagers minds 'This....is a true warrior!'
An elderly woman stepped in front of the group of villagers and walked towards Orion. He was about to speak when the elderly woman suddenly dropped to her knees and kowtowed towards Orion.
He was shocked and was about to tell her to stand when suddenly the rest of the villagers did the same. There were about 60-70 people who were a mix of men, women, children and elderly. The elderly woman in front of the group raised her head from the ground and looked directly into Orion's eyes.
Those golden eyes terrified her at first but she saw gentleness and kindness behind them. Not contempt or arrogance like the warriors she had met in the past. "Thank you, young warrior. You have saved our lives and given us hope to survive another day. We...don't have any thing of value in this village but..we will serve you as your slaves if you wish...."
The old woman paused and took a breath as she continued, "our lives became yours the moment you saved us from the hands of fate, please d-" Orion cut her off as he dropped to his knee in front of her and raised his hand to stop her from continuing.
"I hate the term slaves, there is no need to repay me for exercising my body a bit." Orion spoke calmly as he looked into her eyes, "will you be alright now that your village has been destroyed?"
The elder was shocked by Orion's words. He not only refused payment, but he also worried for their future and safety. The elderly woman was on the verge of tears as she spoke, "w..we have lost a lot of our stronger men. I'm not sure if we will survive but we won't give up."
"Good!" Orion exclaimed with a smile as he stood up. He then extended his hand as he bent forward to help the elderly woman to her feet. Their resolve to live was all he needed to hear. "Amon," Orion called.
"Yes, master!" Amon said as he walked towards his side with newfound respect. "Guide these villagers to our home and explain the situation to Phillip. Have Paige prepare rooms for these people in the castle," Orion said as he looked at the shocked faces of the villagers.
Amon bowed and said, "Understood, Master." Orion then looked at the elderly woman and asked, "Are you the head of this village, ma'am?" "N..no! It...it was my husband, b..but he died protecting me and our daughter." She said with sadness and regret.
"I see. I'm sorry for your loss. This village will need a representative that can listen to their needs and worries, would you be willing to fill your husbands shoes?" Orion said with sadness.
The elderly woman was stunned but she quickly spoke up, "Y..yes! I..I will do my best sir.." "My name is Orion, what's your name?" Orion asked with a slight smile. "I am Linda," she said anxiously.
"Alright, follow Amon here back to our home and we'll help you settle down. For now, I'll be going hunting for the rest of those goblins. I'll catch up as soon as I can," Orion smiled at elder Linda and then turned to look at Amon.
"Leave a wolf with me to track the scent of these bastards. I'm ending their existence tonight." Orion said as his expression turned cold.
"The rest of you will escort them back. Send your fastest member to the castle to get reinforcements to meet you on the way. I don't want anything unexpected to happen." He said as he walked towards the spot where his axe landed and picked it back up.
Orion saw the little girl he saved with an anxious expression. He walked up to her and dropped to a knee and said, "These pups are friendly so don't worry. I'll probably return before you even reach our home, don't be anxious," he patted her head gently with a smile and she nodded as she smiled back.
He turned around and said, "Let's go," as he patted the wolf's head. Orion and the wolf activated their gale step and quickly ran into the forest. The villagers looked at his large back as he disappeared fully and a young man said loudly, "Awesome..."
Everyone looked at the young man with eyes that said "Shut up! We know!"
